the defense has been showing up in stretches, and been improving since the beginning of the season. first half defense was pretty good in the game until the final few minutes. second half was pretty bad and the fourth quarter i thought was awful sans a few possessions.

but you're right, how on earth is Ariza or THT going to fix it.
and if people forget. Ariza was a brick bro for the rockets (him and j smith) but his defense was damn good.

please note: that is a name he was given on clutchfans (not by me either) because the rockets were competitive during the golden state era where you had the splash bros in klay and steph.

Dude we are not winning **** the trades sealed that deal. It's over if we dont by some divine intervention make trades.

I said it before when we inevitably get bounced in the 1st round we should blow this team up. Thank you for the chip it was unforgettable i still watch the highlights but we panicked after the injuries we sustained last season and decided to basically trade away our identity and most certainly Vogels identity.

my god, the things i was watching and the plays they were doing at the end to throw it away.
going under the screen on melo. not switching, giving up open 3s rather than open 2s. not contesting the inbound like at all.

bricking open 3s all game.

im kind of confused. okc was a borderline playoff team last season and this roster hasnt changed much.

They won 22 games what are you talking about?

OKC scored 107 against us

Houston scored 117 against us and had a 70pt first half.

I fail to see where the defense has improved when we're being shat on by the worst teams in the NBA. Especially OKC. There are no **** positives here.

I'm still confused as to Jordan starting. His All NBA defense selections were always a sham and clipper fans rightfully pointed that out on the guy.

I do think it will help, but will it drastically improve?

TBD IMO. and man, i can't believe how awful Monk has looked but again i didn't watch many charlotte games with him.

definitely agree with you it'll be a better defense.

I think I can speak for all Celtics fans here. Hell to the no my friend.

Horford has been one of our best and we don’t want the one person in the league he shoots worse than Marcus Smart.

Smart, Richardson, Juancho, and Neismith/Williams/Langford for Russ and Monk/Ellington?

We lose in terms of talent and get some useless guys, but I can't deal with Russ

I would say you guys should only consider it if youre still not doing so well around the deadline

Russ, Brown, Tatum, Horford, Williams
Dennis, Pritchord, Langford?, Grant Williams
Ellongton/Monk?

Sign a guy like Ennis?

Bro no.. like really? There is a reason Westbrook was considered an untradeable contract and a reason he was traded for John freaking Wall. No one wants him.

i don't understand how lebron thought trading for westbrook would solve the lakers problem. He couldn't win with KD and Harden, then couldn't do it with PG or Beal and all of a sudden Lebron thought westbrook would change the way he's played for the last 10-12 years?

i thought Lebron had a high IQ and understands the game of basketball. How the heck do you not think having a dominant ball hog who can't shoot, has awful decision making and is awful in the clutch would turn the lakers into a championship callibre team? It's no surprise lebron and Ad met with lillard first and tried to force him to lakers. You just can't win with westbrook. It's been proven.

I **** hate this roster man. I just thoroughly dislike so many players on this team. Never felt that way before. Reaves might be the only guy i like on this team. I just cant stand these players man. I dont care what people say about WB i hate him as a player i cant stand him. Cant stand his shot selection cant stand him when the game gets tight cant stand him on defense cant stand him being a little bitch when he gets annoyed.

You know certain players getting them irritated is the last thing you'd want to do.

Kobe
MJ
Lebron
Hakeem

to name a few.

If i was a coach i swear the biggest gameplan i would have against the lakers is to annoy WB....Because i am certain this guy just implodes.

Lakers blew it. That Westbrook turnover right after Melo made that clutch 3 was straight up A$$. He threw away all or any momentum.

Speaking of coaches, I actually feel sorry for Vogel. He’s been given an impossible task of making this roster work despite the fact the pieces just don’t fit and the he doesn’t have a lineup that can defend. As much as I’ve criticized some of his rotations and adjustment I really don’t think there’s much he can do with this lineup.

Russ isn’t a winning player, plain and simple. He makes the dumbest decisions with the ball, can't shoot for ****, gets tunnel vision when he does make a couple shots, and plays some of the worst off ball defense on the team. I still can't believe how many people continue to defend this guy with a straight face knowing how conducive he is to losing. We’re only about a year removed from absolutely exposing him in the playoffs, he was literally one of the main reasons we beat the Rockets so handedly in the second round.

This roster as a whole is dog **** as I had predicted months earlier. DJ shouldn’t be in the league, Rondo is strictly on this roster based on reputation, Baze is a bozo who somehow is worse than Danny Green at finishing around the rim, and Monk is a traffic cone on defense constantly looking over his shoulder. The only guys I’ve been content with are Reaves and Melo, even though the latter has been a terrible defender in his own right. THT, Nunn, and Ariza can’t come back soon enough even though I don’t think they’re gonna be the difference makers that are gonna push us over the top.

I've been annoyed with his rotations as well. But i agree with you that there isn't much he can do with what he has been given.

Players need to understand just because you're an absolute savant on the court you shouldn't be making roster decisions. Lebron takes a HUGE chunk of the blame regarding this. So does Pelinka because he was either too stupid to see it wouldn't work or he didn't have the guts to tell Lebron.

westbrook +6
Anthony davis -14

Carmelo might need a look as a starter with or without lebron.
At full strength, the lakers beat league worst houston by 1 possession.
tonights loss, down 3 rotational players and the teams best player its ez to see why they lost.

AD might not even be the best power forward on his own team which kinda shifts the balance of roster construction. He needs at least a place holding center which DAJ isnt. Might as well bite the bullet and start dwight too.

SGA and Giddy are actually a servicable backcourt and westbrook held his own. The okc frontcourt is pretty treadmill and AD was the one who was negative.
