If I am the Celtics I want Haliburton. He is a great connector and passer. And he can help this team move the ball and shoot the ball.

Lol we have never had a healthy team. And yet we still nearly swept the Celtics.

Enjoy Tatum's incoming trade demand.

why are you posting like a child?

The man is the worst poster on this forum and that’s saying something.

Says he’s a lawyer but speaks like a child.

Defends Kyrie with all his heart yet before he went to Brooklyn he said he was trash (just look at homer38 sig).

I’ll call out the Celtics when they need to be called out but to say we’ve underperformed every year when we pretty much out performed our pre season predictions every year bar last year is insane.

Acts as though the Nets have done something when in reality they’re a perennial losing franchise. Even last year when they stacked the deck the didn’t get to the conference finals and he says “Celtics have only made 3 in the last 4 years”.

Even shot his load early when Nets went up 2-0 vs the Bucks (refer to my sig) and look how that turned out.

This guy is going to hold onto the “Nets would’ve won the 2021 championship but we were injured” title for life.

I just can’t take the guy seriously.

Celtics have played much better since he made the comments, not sure if it’s coincidence or not.

Nets were the better team than Boston last year and probably will be for another 2 years.

But the Celtics were the team that lacked health in last years series. Jaylen Brown missed the entire series and Kemba Walker missed 2 games and Robert Williams also missed 2 games and played really hurt in other games. If both teams were healthy last year, it would not have surprised me if the series went 6.

On the other hand for the Nets, KD, Kyrie, Harden, Harris and Blake all played every game in the series.

If Celtics are reasonably healthy and there is no guarantee of that for any team, they are making the playoffs. The last time the Celtics missed the playoffs, Marcus Smart was not even on the team. Smart has never missed the playoffs and he has played on less talented teams than this one.

Celtics are no title threat with this roster but they are not in danger of having their season derailed by a single non Tatum/Brown injury either.

Last years Celtics team made the playoffs despite some injuries and they were less talented overall than this team. This team does not have great synergy and the pieces don't all fit but they have 10 players that belong in the NBA at least. Last years team on occasion was forced to play what I consider real marginal NBA players at times even in important regular season minutes.

They had 2x double OT games with shots to win both but lost. They could easily be 6-3 probably should be 7-2 after that Bulls collapse.

New coach, new system, Tatum playing like ass… I’m encouraged by the last 2 games and what I’ve seen on the defensive side.

Haliburton for Brown is laughable. I like Haliburton and he’d be perfect for the Celtics but he’s not close to Browns level. There just isn’t an even deal for a Kings/Celtics trade.

They need to fix this or the whole warchest era was a waste.
They need a pass first sharp shooter at pg and smart needs to be traded. He's like Draymond lite but if Draymond didn't play with the best shooting backcourt in NBA history.

Tried blaming Kyrie for everything  In reality they have been trash every year outside of that bubble run.

The chemistry on that team is toxic over and over again.

Oh no no no. Nice try. The Celtics clearly have problems. But the enormous narcissism of Irving lives on with the Nets. I blame the Celtics players for everything that is going on. But you could argue a better case that had Irving been the leader he announced himself to be and screwed that up so badly, the Celtics players now would have been better for it.

"in this case "keeping it in-house" is utter nonsense. it's a knee jerk reaction. mainly smart is saying what everyone can already see. saying it made the issue "real". it's like "okay guyz, i said it out loud, now what are we going to do about it.

what you keep in-house is the inner squabble stuff that NO ONE outside the team has the right to know about

Unlike the Celtics who have had tons of health luck.

The Celtics have been in the playoffs the last 7 years. Several of those teams had the talent to get to the finals if healthy. The last time they weren't dealing with health issues in the playoffs to at least one all star caliber player was SIX YEARS AGO

The Celtics last year were .500 with Jaylen Brown and Kemba. The outcome would have been exactly the same.

Dude this exact thing happened last year.

Jaylen has to do so much work to lead a team with Smart on it. Always cleaning up that immature child's messes trying to wreck the chemistry because he didn't get to miss 30 shots in a game they loss in.

Youre just lying now. I never said Kyrie was trash, I just said he was overrated in a thread saying he was better than Curry. And I said he was a top 10 player when he was on the Celtics and said he was resigning there.

Youre just resorting to personal attacks because you blamed Kyrie for all your problems.

When the truth is the Celtics have always had toxic chemistry and hate each other. Now you have no one to blame.

Oh yeah good call.

Next time I have a problem at work I'll call the local newspaper to run a story about it. That totally helps.

Nope it wasn't them talking to each other in a meeting.

It was the guy who talked **** in public that everyone knows doesn't give a **** about the team and is a huge hypocrite. That REALLLLLLLY helped.

Hell odds are nothing at all has changed and they just happened to win a game or two, it's a long season and we haven't even got 10 games in the books

I'm not understanding all the vitriol being spewed over this. Smart is the heart and soul of this team. He is the voice when a voice needs to be heard. Even though it's early in the season he saw a problem, and he addressed it in the way he does almost everything - all or nothing.
I understand Brown's reaction (after all, nobody likes to be dressed down), but the fact is that Smart was right. There was (and probably still is) a problem with how the C's were playing.
People here are ripping Smart apart, but that is part of what a leader does - he sees a problem and he tries to deal with it. Should he have kept it more private? Maybe, but it today's age of loose lips, and social media, that probably isn't realistic.
Personally I say kudos to Smart for having the cohonas to stand up to the "all-stars" on the team when something apparently needed to be said.

The Celtics are 2-0 after Smart's comments, including a beat down of Miami in Miami on the second night of a back-to-back. This was on a night when Tatum was scoreless until midway through the 4th quarter. The Celtics had 6 players in double figures.
