Should Magic Rebrand?

I recall reading the same thing about contracts and use of old logos and jerseys. I just think it's a wasted opportunity. It's a perfect logo and jersey. It's iconic. There's an aesthetic argument. They'll sell far more merchandise than they do now. So there's an economic argument. I'm not sure what they see in the current brand. They really love that secondary logo (the ball with the stars following it). They've had so many lazy jerseys where they just slap that on a blank jersey and call it a day.

I completely agree, as do (I imagine) most long-time Magic fans. I'd buy jerseys tomorrow if we had the old pinstripes back (for context I haven't bought a current Magic jersey since the McGrady stars one because they've all been terrible, the only other ones I own are retro pinstripe Penny jerseys).

I assume the market data suggests its more profitable to roll out different sh*tty jerseys year after year, which is a shame. It's exacerbated specifically for Magic fans because we have arguably the best jersey set of all time in our history.

It is also frustrating that the big market teams can roll out the same jerseys year after year though - when was the last time the Lakers, Bulls, Celtics or Knicks changed their design?

I think it's time to wash off the funk from the last decade completely.....but maybe after we're a little better.

Just go back to the 89-00 logo and change it a little bit. Anything would be better than the logo and jerseys from 01- current.

The classic pinstripes should be the standard.
