OT - NBA Teams Monitoring Towns Situation

Post#1 » by Tor_Raps » Fri Nov 5, 2021 4:57 pm

As per wiretap, seems like NBA teams might be seeing how the Wolves do. There's thinking that if they take a turn for the worse, which is very possible.

Russell can't stay healthy and even then has been pretty unproductive. There was a tweet from Towns himself saying how a 2-3 losing streak can easily turn into a 18 game losing streak here in Minnesota.

If it became possible, would you want the Raptors to take a run at him? Would we even want to target a player who is so inept at playing defense at such an important position? If you believe he can be salvaged on that end, what type of offer do you think we can offer to get him?

Pascal/Boucher for Towns is more than fair. I actually think Pascal> Towns but we need a C and he's younger.

Send Siakam. If they want Barnes or OG, hang up immediately.

A 2-3 game losing streak turns to 18 when your C is Karl-Anthony Towns. He's the jumpshooting version of Andre Drummond.

I think you would need way more than Pascal IMO. But I would trade Siakam for Towns in a heartbeat.

But man, Towns here I think would be incredible. He has never been on a team with good defenders outside one year of Jimmy, and they were decent that year. FVV/Trent/OG/Barnes/KAT is a **** great team. Spacing, defence, youth, size. It all sounds awesome.

Masai should monitoring it too. I just feel towns will fit Barnes, OG Fred better than siakam. Cause towns is big and play Center Defence. Siakam, OG, Barnes are same type player. If you have a chance to upgrade the C, and it an young all star, you always want to do it.

Well then... I'd say the KAT train may be the one we attach picks to, to make it happen. a Pascal/Boucher 2 1sts package is better than Houston got for Harden... (I'd really like to no trade the firsts, but the lineup you proposed - KAT and 4 elite defenders for their positions) Sounds like it could grow into a title team.

Don't need him. Don't want him. Move along.

Likelihood of this for us is slim to none but I would do pascal/Precious/Flynn 2 1sts (probably flip siakam ) in a heartbeat.

Towns
Barnes
OG
Gary
Fred

Like a few others have said, Pascal, non-core filler, and at most a couple 1sts is my top price. It's about the same value as the Kawhi trade. I imagine some teams will come at the Wolves with multiple 1sts and swaps, which they may prefer to take, in order to build around Edwards.

Towns looks great on paper but you really gotta question how much he contributes to the losing culture in Minny. This is his 7th season and he's made the playoffs once.

While we have the pieces to make a blockbuster trade, the fit has to be there. I don't think Towns fits in the Raptors culture.

You guys are nuts. If Minny decided to blow it up, they'd want young assets, not Siakam.

No and he offers no defensive versatility whatsoever and that's makes this team good right now.
Obviously his offensive versatility dramatically raises this team's ceiling, but is that enough to win in the playoffs where teams will hunt him?

No way Pascal should be traded for Towns and he won't be. This notion that a centre is needed is erroneous. Let's see how the positionless experiment works with Pascal, OG and Barnes before suggesting any foolish trades. If it does not work (and Masai suggested it may be next year before we know), let's just hold on to what we have.

not interested unless you can get him for something unrealistic like Dragic+Boucher+Precious+Flynn.

Especially when that C doesn't play defence. Towns brings nothing to this team.

Guys, stop putting Precious in trades proposal. Can't you recall what Vice Chairman said during his press conference about getting him and what it meant to him? and you think he would then turn around to trade him a couple of months later?! cmon
