Bounce back game.

TRo due.

No word on PJ yet after that nasty looking hyperextended elbow.

Should be a tough game. Barnes has has a resurgence. Holmes and Fox are going to be tough. Going to be a close one.

Yeah - he’s turned out to be a bit of a player. Didn’t quite get the predraft hate on Davion - he seemed to have a lot of dog in him and a bunch of tools, at least one of which seemed sure-thing (D). I often chalk up draft-head criticism of guys like Davion (Murphy, Duarte) to upperclassmen syndrome. If I would have known we were moving on from DG I would have been higher on him.

For me it was just the age + strange shooting stat anomalies (awful FT%, crazy bump in 3PT% for one year after three bad years).

I figured he'd be a useful player, just with a lower ceiling.

Makes sense. Get the shooting concerns 100%. I still don't see Davion turning into a star, but he reeks of NBA lifer and the rule changes only maximize his defensive value. If his shot translates he's def a Pat Bev+. I still have high hopes for Bouk (especially if he can evolve past his ISO tendencies) and I'm growing to like Ish, but in retrospect would love to have Davion for PG depth and to hassle opposing backcourts.

re: tonight's game, Davion is obviously a plus defender, but has a glaring tendency to overcommit. He's laterally quick enough to make up for it, but fast action can turn his aggressiveness against him - you definitely can't go at him with a dribble, but you can work him with screens and handoffs.

Am I missing something?

Davion is averaging 9.5/3.5/2.0 in 27 minutes on abysmal (39.5/21.6/50.0) splits. Now he's going to ruin somebody's night?

He's definitely not ruining anyone's night on the offensive end of the floor :)

I've been tracking him pretty closely and he's as good as advertised on defense. Watched both Lillard and Curry repeatedly switch off him to avoid having to deal with the matchup. He's not a game changer, but also not a guy you want locked on to your primary scorer(s).

we are bottom 3 defensive team in the league. davion is already top... 2? perimeter defenders in the league. he would pair very well next to melo long term or as 3rd guard in melo, terry rotation.

obviously he'll have to improve that 21% from 3 though.

yeah, basically tony allen 2.0. and tony allen usually ruined somebody's night. but donovan got the better of davion few days ago, maybe melo or terry can cook him.

Looks like more regular shoes, but what do I know.
