GSW/Blazers/Sixers

Post#1 » by Tomjas » Thu Nov 4, 2021 9:35 am

GSW get Simmons

Blazers get Green & Wiseman

Sixers get CJ & Poole

Why?

Assuming that Dame is off the table & Simmons is out of his mental funk

Warriors get a super sayan version of Draymond

Blazers massively upgrade their defence/culture with Dame’s friend & get their 5 of the future

Sixers go full on shooting

Warriors need Poole to offset Simmons not shooting from distance.

I think if the Blazers could get Simmons for CJ it would have been done already

Or if they could get Draymond Green (plus Wiseman).

Easy yes for Portland, meaning it isn't happening. 76ers aren't getting anything more than they have been demanding, so not sure why this is the trade that gets Morey to budge.

Simmons is not a Super Saiyan version of Draymond. He’s a younger guy that plays good D and can’t shoot. He’s not the leader and capable of orchestrating the defense like Dray.

Warriors need that and wouldn’t do this deal unless Dray requested it-which is unlikely

I think the only trade that GSW would be comfortable with for Simmons is Wiggins, 22' & 26' FRP & one of Kuminga, Wiseman or Moody.

This would definitely would be outbid on the market so I do not see Simmons going to SF unless he really forces it.

I have a very hard time envisioning GSW moving any of Curry/Klay/Green this year or even the next. They all three will more than likely retire warriors.

This is a fun trade. Value isn't fair, but it's a fun shake-up that addresses some short-term issues for all teams.

Blazers obviously are the winners and would need a pick or prospect going out.
I don't have a cool avatar image because Dame came home.

He's not the rim protector, and not willing to shoot 27% from 3, but he's better at everything else. Bigger, stronger, faster, better at guarding the perimeter and the best wing defender in the league. Ben can clamp Luka, Trae, Lebron, Jimmy, Tatum. He's a better passer and better at the rim.

A worse leader though and more inconsistent. But Draymond was god awful without Steph last year, a team built around Ben can go to the playoffs and win a round. He's clearly a tier above Draymond as a talent.

I dont think Simmons is going to get anywhere near what Sixers fans hope, and whether they do or don't, I think its pretty unlikely that the Warriors end up with Simmons at the end of the day. Our lineups tend to take a hit with 2 non-shooters on the court. Normally we can offset that if we had Curry/Klay playing with them, and we had hoped Curry/Poole would provide similar results, but so far Poole's shot hasn't been as good as it was to end last year and through the preseason this year.

So no from me, and don't see a workaround

Absolute no from this GS fan. I wouldn't trade Green for Simmons straight up, so very easy no. I can't see any deal with Simmons to the Warriors that makes sense.

I personally think Simmons is significantly better player than Green. That said I totally agree. There is no deal that makes sense for either team.

If starting a new team, absolutely agree. On our team, where Dray is a leader, the quarterback of our defense, and has almost 10 years in.. its the one exception, most likely. Unless you believe that Simmons is a perpetual problem in the locker room, which may or may not be the case. Green's a problem too, but he's usually more of the 'for the love of god shut up before you get a T' problem

Warriors model is the Spurs I doubt Curry, Klay Draymond ever get traded. I even predict Klay and Green are the types of players who take Duncan Many discounts to bring in a young star when the cap goes up
