I'm trying to imagine Garnett go up against those guys as an 18 year old rookie ... maybe a TWolves fan will enlighten us, but I doubt it ended well for him if it ever happened.

For reference, he was listed as a SF his first two seasons, not a C ...

While comps to ATG's can't prove you wrong, they do demonstrate you might not be right. Mobley may very well be on track to become a legend, but that doesn't mean he will become one. There's a lot of steps along that path he can stumble over or fail to get past.

A penny for your thoughts. A nickel for your kiss. A dime if you tell me that you love me...

Bill Wennington ... lol

You don't think Evan won't have at least as impressive an offensive game by February?

The comparison isn't perfect because KG came straight out of high-school, but Evan is averaging 13 & 9 in his first 9 games. KG started out under 7 & 4 for his first 2 months (25 games).

But it's easier to compare Mobley to Davis since they both had a season in the NCAA.

Hopefully both rooks shine tonight.

That was a league full of first ballot hall of fame big men back when 4's and 5's looked like this.

Image

Kevin Garnett was a specimen.

He had a 7'4-7'5 wingspan with a 40-45" vert. That is...rare.

Weighed the same was Mobley but had a wider frame.

Still wiry but he was always know for being very skinny strong.

He out of high school was a great passer and had a jump shot. Struggled early but I imagine you improve quick back then.

I could never compare the two because Kevin Garnett was arguably a bi-generational prospect.

Now if he came up in today's game? That would've been terrifying.

DROB would have been more terrifying as he came in older lol. Like what do you do what prime Robinson today? F that he’d be the best center holistically.

Suns probably would have won the chip no doubt with DROB parked at the rim.

Yeah man.

This is why when I hear people make comps like this. Like. It's just not right.

Mobley would literally need to have Lebron athleticism to even have a chance at getting to Garnett.

And even that that doesn't cover the huge frame, best of all time intensity and **** talking.

I always wondered if KG came up today and could shoot threes, would he have become the GOAT?

here we go Mobley vs Barnes round 1

It’s basically rebounding that’s about it. Green and Cade look abit off which wasn’t to be expected to this extent. Suggs is looking better and his defense has transferred over. They’ll figure it out eventually it’s just that with Cade his shot from range looks god awful consistently.

I saw enough, Mobley is muuuuuch, muuuch better than Barnes, and I would never change him for Barnes. When Mobley was on Barnes there was no Barnes.

Barnes worst game of his career. And still had 14-10-4 and 2 blocks. Should’ve had 5 assists but somehow the stats person didn’t give him an assist on a hand off to Malachi for a 3 in the first half. Overall a solid performance considering he’s playing with a sprained thumb and is back after missing the last 2 games

Also, Scottie literally gets no respect from the refs. Gets hacked multiple times in the paint and no call

Mobley played a solid game, but mostly impressed with his defense. The offense wasn’t that special since most of his baskets were open dunks and lobs

I wish the Raptors had a real PG who could create open looks for Scottie in the same fashion. Barnes always has to take tough shots cause Fred is trash as a playmaker

Yeah 18/5/2/0/2 is much better than 14/10/4/0/2

Especially against a guy who came off an injury

Funny how you don't mention how Mobley did against Barnes

Troll GTF outta here.

Wasn't Barnes coming back from an injury and wearing tape on his hand? He still put up 12-10-4 with 2 blocks. He's not much much much better than Barnes. Turn off your bias and humble yourself.

Anyways Scottie with his worst game of the year and he STILL

Posted
14 points
10 rebounds
4 assists
0 steals
2 blocks

Efficiency could have been better (7/19)

But I want to see the same haters respond when Mobley posted

2/4/4 on 1/6

*yawn*
