Whoever it was who gave Rose that MVP vote last year is proving prescient.

I don't know if WAY better is the term I would use. They both excel at different things. One thing is for sure though... they are both WAY better than Elfrid Payton!
Go Knicks!

No call, no sense of entitlement. Just gets back up and sprints back on defense. What a great peice to have on any team.

Re: Derrick Rose is very good
All those years people complained Derrick Rose can't shoot.
He's now shooting 45.5% from 3 this season.
Why you draft talent not shooters at the college level.

Was great for us as well.
Crazy that the year before he was in Cleveland, struggling with injuries, wasnt sure if he wanted to play the game anymore and skipping team meetings
Dude was Kind of broken after Chicago traded him, Physically and emotionally. Im glad to see he's not only stuck fat, But hes a big part of a good team as well.

Old Bulls front office (GarPax) had 0 clue what they were doing. They destroyed everyone and everything.

Rose had a lot of athleticism to lose, so he's still a comparably good athlete, but health just kept limiting him, it's good to see him do well

Rose is Westbrook humbled and with a brain.
The Lakers could've gotten him to play Westbrook's role for a fraction of the cost.

They didn't have the capspace to sign him. I guess they could have traded for him last year, is that what you're referring to?
Go Knicks!

Yep, when he was with Detroit.
I believe at the time a simple Kuzma/Bradley for Rose/Morris would've worked.
Rose gets to play for a ring and the Lakers fill a need.
Kuzma gets to play in his backyard and the Pistons get a somewhat young prospect with potential.

Westbrook has generally been an iron man for his career. There's a much larger injury risk in getting Rose even right now than getting Westbrook, and the Lakers seemed to be looking for durability

And then Lebron maybe would once again waive D.Rose.
Rose that year that he signed with the Cavs, he had a lot bigger offers from other teams, and he signed a minimum contract for the Cavs. And the result was to get waived in order that the Cavs to get rid of that minimum contract.
The previous year(2016-17) Rose averaged 18ppg with Knicks. The next year(2018-19) he averaged 18ppg with the Wolves.
But he got waived the only year that he played with Lebron James

yep, without Derrick the knicks would definitely take a step back. The one game i watched then this year was vs Chicago and imo he was the difference in the game.

I wouldn't say that. That last Bulls season was chucking at its finest. Basically WB without the triple doubles.
Sam Hinkie gets removed from the league for enacting a plan approved by the fanbase yet NIco Harrison and Patrick Dumont keep their job for alienating their fanbase. Make it make sense.

Re: Derrick Rose is very good
The improvement in his three point shot has been huge (he's hugely improved his three point shot and that improvement has been a huge factor in his effectiveness).
But he's really not a full time (starting) point guard. He often drives with tunnel vision and he's just much better at generating shots for himself than for the team. Not that he won't pass or forces up a lot of bad shots. Orchestrating just isn't his strength.
He's in an ideal role off the bench because the second unit needs the punch of his individual offense. And he can also close games when things slow down and you need another guy who is strong with the ball and can create for himself.
I've really never loved him as a player, and this version of him as a bench guard is really the only version I've even liked.
I also find it a little hard to get past the SAT cheating that caused Memphis to forfeit his entire season there, the no-call no show for a game in his last stint with the Knicks, and this:
He's playing well for us now, and I root for him because he's a Knicks player, but overall I find him anything but inspirational.

Question: “Do you have an understanding as to the word consent?”
Rose: “No but can you tell me?”
Question: “I just wanted to know if you had any understanding.”
Rose: “No.”

Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.
