they've likely gotten one or more complaints from employees and they are just investigating to see the validity/extent of the alleged misconduct.

it seems pretty common practice to me, nobody gets disciplined/fired without some sort of proof.

The specifics doesn't matter. The moment a situation like this appears, the public opinion already judges, condemns and applies the sentence to the person.

As the saying in logic goes, "if everything is X, nothing is X".

For example: if everything is abuse, nothing is abuse, ie, you trivialize abuse, so, over time, the true cases of abuse gets overwhelmed by everything and anything that can be categorized as "abuse".

bullying/verbal tirades seem to be the main issues: https://www.oregonlive.com/sports/john_canzano/2021/11/canzano-trail-blazers-gm-neil-olsheys-tired-bully-act-should-have-been-over-long-ago.html

Wait that's it? So they're complaining about a boss being a boss?

This should investigate him for how he’s been screwing Lollards career over the years.

Head coaches and GM's get fired in this league all the time for poor performance without the dog and pony show. Maybe they don't want to pay him?

Bullying is not an acceptable form of leadership.

I thought he was getting **** canned months ago for being like “we conducted an investigation on the Chauncey rape stuff and didn’t find anything” then turns out he lied about it and never did it. Was like, why even say anything. Seems like an **** and a below average basketball mind at that

laughable.

you can't seriously believe that Lebron/Klutch don't have more sway in the Lakers FO than any other team's superstars with KD being a close second in BKY. LeBron and AD's fingerprints are all over the Lakers trading for Westy.

really? I feel like there has been a lot of rumblings about him not putting a proper supporting cast around Lillard.

He hasn't been accused of that yet. The accusations in the articles are that he was an ****, created a toxic work environment, and ran employees off by being ****:
Trail Blazers staff members have allegedly been "subjected to intimidation and profanity-laced tirades, among other bullying tactics" under Olshey, according to Haynes. Multiple employees have reportedly taken issue with Olshey's treatment of staffers.

Many Blazer fans would disagree with this statement. He lost a lot of fans after 2016 and he offered 17mil per year to Evan Turner.

I mean if there's evidence so be it. My concern is this stuff is happening without a lot of evidence. That's all.

How do you know there aren't any evidence? That is what the investigation is for.

He should be fired because he is an awful GM, but I hope there is more to it than what this article is referencing. Basically Neil cusses out a lot of people. And???

I hate to break a little inside secret here, but ya most people that are high ups in multi billion dollar companies, usually arent all rainbows and sunshine to work with. You make a mistake, youre going to get chewed out.

My guess is Ashley is a crap GM and Portland's ownership has come to realize that Olshey is a crap GM. But I also am willing to bet that Olshey is making a few million a year and the Portland ownership group would like to get rid of Olshey without having to continue paying his salary. And I'm sure firing him for work misconduct is a way to do that.
