Some high-profile questionable calls like the FG attempt against Tampa notwithstanding, MLF's play-calling on the whole was a huge factor in their success last year, and in Aaron's resurrection as a top QB in the league. Buying in, checking his ego, and being willing to take the short chunks of yardage was a huge factor. Despite his receiving corps not being as deep as some in the past, he's never owed so much to the rest of his team and his coaches for his great numbers. The O-line was incredible, the play-calling was terrific, the receivers got a ton of YAC's, there weren't many drops despite MVS's reputation, and the running game was as good as they've had since Ahman Green.
Unfortunately the O-line isn't as good right now, but I am very curious to see what an average QB can do in this organization. I don't have high hopes for today because of the injuries and because that's not how QB development usually plays out, but I don't think they're
nearly as dependent on Rodgers as they were in his other great years.
