Simmons averaged 14.3 points last season, Maxey has taken his spot and is averaging 14.2 this season. Probably Maxey isn't as good as Simmons overall, but he is doing a solid job of replacing Simmons' production. If I were Philly, at this stage I'd happily trade Simmons for a decent stretch-4 and a non-lottery pick. In Maxey, Curry, Milton and Korkmaz they have enough guards. Simmons for Jerami Grant, just do it!

Bum Simmons was never a key part in our team, he is one of the most overrated players I've ever seen, at least overrated from our fanbase. It's incredible how much more enjoyable games are without him, and players are having so much more fun on the court and in the locker room. That some aussies and some posters would defend Simmons and put Embiid down so they can prop up Jokic is understandable of course.

Embiid per minutes average (he only played 8 min in game 4 before leaving with injury Vs wizards in playoffs). Embiid went nuclear on the wizards. They couldn’t stop him. So look what embiid did the first 3 games and first 8 min of game 4.

As for the raptors 2019 series. One of the reasons embiid was hampered on offense was his frustrating being double team (or fake double team) with Leonard or someone else who was guarding Simmons hedging to double embiid once he got closer to the basket cause Simmons won’t shoot the ball.

Look at game 7. Embiid left the floor for less than 3 min and in those 3 minutes sixers were outscored by 12 points.

Embiid has more impact on the defensive side than Simmons. He has to be primary scorer and play defense to protect the paint.

If only Simmons held up his end of the assignment and shoot the ball once in a while from outside of 5 feet just to keep the defense honest.

I don't know why you keep repeating this bs. Whoever guarded Simmons doubled off of him due to his lack of a jumper and smothered Embiid. Also look at the last shot, Joel contested it the best he could and who was the one who gave up? That bum Simmons!

This Embiid vs. Simmons analysis for that Toronto series has one glaring omission: Jimmy Butler was the best player for the Sixers in that series! Over 7 games, Butler was the leading scorer and led in assists despite Simmons being the PG.

As a Raptors fan, I remember Butler was tenacious, went toe-to-toe with Kawhi in the dying minutes of Game 7, where in the last 5 minutes he scored 5 of Philly's last 10 points. If it weren't for Butler, Toronto would not have needed that last second Kawhi shot. Embiid made key free throws and left everything on the floor. Meanwhile, Simmons was nowhere to be seen in crunch time.
