TOR-MINN: Siakam, Achiuwa, Flynn for Karl Anthony Towns

Post#1 » by MessiahUjiri » Mon Nov 8, 2021 3:54 am

Here’s something that might work for both Toronto and Minnesota:

Pascal Siakam + Precious Achiuwa + Malachi Flynn
for
Karl Anthony Towns + one of the young backups (Okogie or Nowell)

TWolves cash out on KAT with a nice All star PF + starter PF/C + backup PG.

Raptors move towards a playoff contender with a better balanced front court of OG + Barnes + KAT

I think picks need to be added but if Minnesota trades KAT why would they downgrade and set themselves up to be in similar situation with Siakam (soon to be disgruntled star on a losing team)? Like Simmons, Minnesota would ideally pair KAT and Siakam together, not swap them for each other.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Toronto is gonna need to give up more. Significantly more IMO.

this is multiple picks off in terms of value, and Minnesota wouldn't deal KAT for a 27/28 year old guy that's far worse than KAT, it would have to be a monster rebuild package

This.

OP is silly concept. Idea would be to pair them not trade one for another.

Yah, this is stacking nickles on top of a quarter for a dollar. At least the Barnes idea has Minnesota getting a piece that might be an elite player to build around long-term on the same timeline as Edwards.

Dumb trade. Wolves can get ALOT more for Towns. Isn't Siakam older than KAT too? Lol

I'd be going with OG+FVV+FRPs for KAT

Trent, Barnes, Siakam, KAT is a quality fit IMO. That gets you the defense for KAT and the blend of playmaking and offense to be elite.

I also really like FVV, Edwards, OG, McDaniels

The real question is Siakam even considered a positive contract with all things considered?

Absolutely brutal for Minnesotta

I’m OP.

I hear you. Let’s pivot and try to combine them.

Minnesota probably prefers Edwards to DLo, so let’s make it a deal around DLo. IMO, Deangelo is worth much lower than KAT. How’s this:

Siakam, Malachi Flynn, future 2nd
for
DeAngelo, Naz Reid and Jarred Vanderbilt

Minn gets an Edwards-Siakam-Towns core
Tor gets solid depth pieces.

Tor doesn't, Russell's value is negative, that's a bad trade for them.

Why would Toronto want D'Angelo Russell? You're basically taking on a guy who is a glorified scorer who plays 0 defense and it's too small to play with Fred VanVleet. Naz Reid isn't a long-term answer for Toronto at the centre position and Jarred Vanderbilt isn't somebody to bridge any sort of gap. That is an extremely easy no thank you from Toronto. Siakam has more value than all those guys combined. People need to stop treating him like he's a garbage contract, let's revisit his contract, the trade deadline or the All-Star break
