GT: Bucky at Rutgers - 2:30 - BTN

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sat Nov 6, 2021 2:52 pm

Forgot about this game with everything else going on in the Wisconsin sports world . I may watch, I may record and watch later.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Well this is certainly a sloppy start for both teams.

The last few weeks have been a testament to how the variance of the turnover battle made the Badgers look a lot worse than they really were IMO. Very disappointing that Mertz has another pick today though. I think he's just a dumb QB with basically all the bad features of Favre at his worst and almost none of the good to go with it.

Also, I realize Allen isn't likely to have a great game with his injuries but I have had visions of Eddie George watching him recently. Yeah, I went there.

so the badgers might be good?
How much must it suck to be a Michigan State fan, to be in the football playoff (presumably for the first time ever) on the first ranking, then get knocked out by a mediocre Purdue team.

This defense may be the best I can remember. Mertz still kind of sucks, but the offense is rounding into passable quality.

Backfield depth is concerning. As good as Allen is, if he goes down the offense goes right with him.

What happened to Guerendo? He hasn't played since the first few games. They redshirting him?

Yeah, I'm not saddened by the loss of Chez other than for depth/sharing time with Allen.

It's possible that Davis/Acker just share Chez's carries and give us 90% of his solid play and then Allen goes HAM for his 20-25 touches...but we're wearing thin.

Allen is 17 (have you guys heard?) and played a spring season. He was also fumbling once every 5 carries or so (knock on wood, maybe fixed). For these reasons I understand only giving him ~20 touches.

That said, we shouldn't need much help for Northwestern. Nebraska will be frisky even with their record and Minnesota is a big game regardless and on the road.
