Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 7
About Maxey, i think we gotta give him time. I see a lot of people already dismissing him. He´s very young and wasnt ready to be our starting pg this year, his ideal role would be the sparkplug bench player, only focused on scoring. But, as our starting pg, he´s more worried with setting up the team, what reduces his effectiveness. He will learn to be more agressive, while still finding the right pass. He has doc and cassel to help him, he will be better.
After his early games with very low assists, he´s getting better as a passer: in his last 6 games he´s averaging 5,8 apg. I still think he has a lot of potential: his driving game is very good. His jumper isnt that good yet, but i think maybe in 1-2 years he can be a reliable 3 pt shooter. Right now he´s a reluctant shooter, passing a lot of 3s.
We gotta realize he´s still very low in the pecking order on the team, so he doesnt have a lot of plays designed for him. He has a lot of potential with iso scoring. I think , if his jumper improves and he continues getting better as a passer, i can see him as a quality starting guard in the future.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 7
so the new goalpost is that Morey personally leaked that Ben and his team did not meet the basic requirements to keep up the facade....and somehow this is Morey's fault?
And you keep saying that you aren't defending Ben tho.
All Ben had to do was get some rando doc to sign off on a meeting and that would have been enough....
Yeah Morey probably should have traded Ben during the draft. Yep. Nothing can be done about that now. Thats all you have. But you continue to blame everyone BUT Ben for this situation. You are also constantly trying to downplay the teams current success. Constantly belittling Embiid for everything. And yet continue to say "I am not a Ben fan" when everything points in to that very same conclusion lol.
Like dude why are you even here? Syntax at least is honest about his agenda and only shows up when it is a good time to gloat. All you are doing is being a debbie downer for no reason lol. I think most fans know that the end result of this Ben situation is going to be mid at best. I also think most will get on Morey when that happens....so what else do you even want at this point beyond someone going "yeah you are right"? A trades not happening any time soon....come back then I guess?

Haliburton and Mitchell aren’t good fit for Ben.
Bagley and Ben are redundant.
Bagley doesn’t play. Halliburton and Hield are a great fit with Ben. Mitchell runs second unit since he’s a rookie after all.
So they’re a better team after the trade or before the trade?
Probably after. You change the defensive identity immediately and have a guy who generates shots for your best scorers while not shooting 19 times a game. Fox is great, but he’s kind of a random cornerstone piece on a team that has changed its offensive identity.
Different player (and he’s better) but he’s kinda like their Tobias.

The most funny thing is how every time he goes "i was right about all that has happened".
Dude, people had to explain him how the CBA work like 5 times like one month ago

Just kidding.
Yeah, i could be wrong. But I just think Kings needs Fox more than Ben.
Fox is just struggling right now. Even we know its temporary thats why we want to trade Ben for him.

I don't think Ben occupies the same spaces that Haliburton, Hield, Barnes, and Davis do. So unless you're referring to Richuan Holmes, who I'd hardly called their "scorer", I think they'd do well with Ben. Kings can trade for Theis, Muscala, Wagner, maybe Boucher and have them be a 3pt slinging C so they really don't occupy the same spaces.

I don't like Brown that much BUT getting to watch Simmons against the Sixers more times per year and having him have to deal with Boston fans after Philly's wrath does make me a little ok with this trade. Imagine that rivalry!

Yeah they're 8th in offense even with Fox taking a step back versus 23rd in defense. They're also a terrible rebounding team. Ben would be a great fit for what they need, whereas they have other guys to fill what Fox does (or Halliburton if he were to come instead).
Meanwhile I am not as confident as you that Fox would make the team better than Ben would with his head screwed on right but that's not happening here.

De'Aaron Fox has been terrible this year and has no long term record of being a great or even adequate three point shooter and is barely adequate at the line, plus smaller and not a great defender. He can get to the rim and set up shooters, but isn't an incredible creator for himself and others, the kind of guy that is a three way threat (shoot, drive, get fouled) in crunch time since his range and FT% are suspect. He is moving towards my do not want list. He is a longer Colin Sexton, maybe, who likewise has been kind of arse this year.

This is just a classic Celtics leak. They get in the news for a day or two then it comes out they're offering Smart and Nesmith.

I would say he's different from Sexton in that he actually has somewhat of a track record of being the best player on a decent team. That Kings team that finished 39-43 and 9th in the West could have easily been a playoff team in the east.

I would not imagine anything material, assuming Brown's injury isn't serious.

"I've been proven right at EVERY TURN!!!" === says the guy who's literally been proven wrong at every turn. Seems Legit...
This freaking guy needs to borrow some of the Doctor's they're sending Ben to. Maybe he really is Simmons posting. Like BC's Burner Accounts gave him the idea.
The funny thing to me is is there some language barrier or something like that? He says I'm emotional, I say I actually don't care to be honest, he says "POINT PROVEN!!" Uhh, that's like the opposite of a proven point, which is another way to say "wrongo"
but yeah man, proven right at every turn=== *confirmed. And you know it's *confirmed because someone on the internet put *confirmed at the end of it.

I find this line of thinking to be interesting since we wouldn't be able to sniff De'Aaron Fox for Ben earlier this summer since he was on the heels of last season where he was an absolute force on offense. Now that he's struggling, he's persona non grata. Never mind that he's improved every season he's played and is having a down start to the year.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 7
yeah people going "well so and so isn't playing well now" is weird to me. Thats kinda the whole point of trades, no? We are banking on whoever we get being better thanks to not having to be the everything and they are banking on Ben taking the next step. I think some are of the mind that whoever we trade Ben for is going to be a guaranteed improvement with no downsides..
Like Fox COULD be a good stats on a bad team guy...and Maxey could be better than him SOMEDAY...but we are also trading a dude who doesn't want to be here and is currently averaging 0,0,0,0 lol. Fox is exactly the type of shot in the dark that I think is worth taking. He's young. Locked up and as much as Korklord is fun as ****...would at the very least give us another ballhandler..and more importantly someone who can push tempo. He doesn't fix all the issues mind you but I don't think any reasonable target would either.

Simmons play making and defense would launch the celtics in the standings, don't know
how it helps us.
