The bulls are not very good. but at the same time its the second of a back to back on the road and thats usually a loss no matter who the teams are 8 times out of 10.
Rest 'em. we dont need a full squad to beat the bulls and going all out in a 2nd of a back to back on the road is just asking for trouble

Great W. Probably the best of the year. Soundly beating a long athletic, high effort team with a rowdy home crowd. Love how we're battling on defense.
Harden looked great. Really good sign. He got to the paint over and over and just looked super aggressive. Refs aren't going to give him calls but this is the Harden we need. He looked like a different player so hopefully he keeps it up.
The offense is still a little clunky but it looks a lot better when Blake is shooting the 3 with confidence. Recently our starting group has been pretty damn good but our offense is going downhill when the 2nd unit comes in. Then it feels like the starters lose their momentum. I liked the adjustment that Nash made - trying to play Joe with that group in the 1st half. Harden played with them in the 2nd half. With no Kyrie, we can't have a star on the floor at all times. We're keeping our stars at 34-35 minutes per game - which is good. We need to figure out how to generate offense without them though.

Re: GT: Nets @ Raptors - 11/7/21, 330pm EST
After just finishing a re-watch this morning one thing is starting to stand out to me.
The new foul rules BENEFIT us.
All the hype about Harden, and obviously he is being targeted by refs, but he is still getting his triple double and big scoring games as he rounds into shape. But for us, it has really helped our defense that when guys get a step on us and there is some contact that it isnt an automatic whistle. Last year Brown got whistled a ton trying to get over screens and trailing. and alot of drives too. now those are "play ons".
We were #6 in defensive FG%/eFG% last year, this year it will be even better with our team not getting called for as many fouls.
At the end of the Day, KD/Harden will score with any rules. lesser players, not so much.

yea, props to Nash for not starting the 4th the way he started the 2nd (with an all-bench lineup). We have to give all-bench 6-8 minutes a game and i like doing that with Carter/Bembry/Brown/Milsap since they are all dogs. but if it doesnt go well 2nd half you need to can it in the 4th. and he did.

If we can maintain this level of defense and Harden can go back to normal no one is beating us.
With or without Kyrie.
The Bucks are not all that. The Heat do not have the 2 best players in the series. And the Lakers look like a mess.

Once we switched to drop coverage, the defensive rebounding looks to have improved as well.

Yeah this is a great point. Guys like Brown and Bembry can actually play defense now because of it.
It's infuriating that the refs miss blatant fouls on Harden though. The Nets need to send video evidence to the league. The dude isn't even foul baiting anymore he's getting straight up hacked

Yeah. And we still have the ability to switch everything in most lineups. so it should be sustainable in the playoffs. the new rules make drop coverage possible again. you dont have the ball handler stopping and flailing for 3 cheap fTs anymore

It's a delicate balance with Harden. We kind of need him to keep getting the reps. But we've rattled off 5 in a row so this game isn't really important.
If anything, keep Harden at a minutes restriction

im fine with him getting no calls early on it makes sense refs need to learn but also put the players on notice that they need to expect this moving forward.
but when harden litterally gets wrapped up intentionally by Trent, thats just gross.
Nash needed to get a technical/ejected/deported/lose canadian citizen ship for arguing that one

Yeah, i think the performance team has a plan, just stick to that. back to back at home is different. this one involves travel. id sit him but i trust them they are pretty cautious. Nash also has been better not just running these dudes into the ground

the one where KD had the ball ready to inbound and they stopped play to allow a sub was also awful

Durant is going to get ejected for technical fouls before Nash does at this rate. KD is absolutely fed up with how the Nets are being officiated.
