Kevin Durant reaches 24,000 career points, closes in on top 25 all-time

Durant trails Hall-of-Fame guard Allen Iverson by less than 400 points for 25th place, with Ray Allen and Patrick Ewing not far behind.

Ive never seen him pass and playmake as well as he has through these 4 games before. His scoring isnt going anywhere and his 3pt shot is lagging behind so far too which makes it scarier

Read on Twitter

This JUST MIGHT be a new peak for him which would frankly be absurd

That wrap around pass looks pretty. but he has attempted that exact pass 4 times this year with 3 turnovers. 2 of which started a 1-0 fast break the other way.

Discussing Durant is just discussing "what level of greatness" he is at. but despite the Ast - TO early, he hasnt been a great playmaker. He still struggles to protect the ball. it is unclear why more teams dont double/trap him. as a net, he has never done well against that. even with great shooting around him.

He doesnt get inside 12 feet enough to really be a great playmaker for others. most of the playmaking he does is the result of insane gravity.... which cant be discounted

I think durant is off to a subpar start by his standards. the durant we saw post injury last year was a different animal. im sure he will get there

The narrative on Harden is FTs... which isnt surprising with the new rules and some peculiar no calls. But what isnt discussed is he has a greatly different play style in brooklyn. last year, prior to new rules, he had his lowest FT attempts since he was a part time player in OKC. He simply doesnt look to score first driving anymore/all that often. he looks to pass first now, and pass first on drives. the majority of his scoring is from three.

Nets fans were actually frustrated last year that he wasnt aggressive enough scoring and didnt foul bait (like we finally got a guy who gets to the line and now he doesnt want to get ot the line).

Hardens struggles this year i think have alot more to do with his hamstring recovery/rust/out of shape vs. new rules. i think he adjusted to new rules after the 3rd game. he said he talked to the officials and nash did too and in practice the nets are calling it different

Fatden finally explodes. Our FAT still can play, though. Thanks to be young. Wonder could he play this level at his 30's.

Interesting - Zach Lowe doesn't get involved in the legacy and player ranking nonsense very often but he may have tipped his hand in today's 10 Things:

During Sunday's Brooklyn Nets game in Toronto, Matt Devlin, the Raptors' play-by-play voice, mentioned it was Durant's first time there since tearing his Achilles during the 2019 Finals.

We are prisoners of the moment, but that night, it felt as if the axis of the league tilted -- that one of the 10 greatest players of all-time would never be the same, that the league and sport itself would never be the same.

Best player in the game.

Curry is a beast, i get what he does. Giannis/Jokic have an argument. Their global impact on average might be greater. But KD being by far.. BY FAR.. the hardest individual to stop from scoring in possibly this leagues history makes him that guy. His ease of pulling up 18ft in is a cheat code.

Dude is incredible. Mid range game silly.

What do you mean by ”global impact”?

He means that they're actually better.
