I'm on Jokic's side on this one. Morris just got his payback on that one. Don't push a bear next time?

WWE should be listening and planning...
Not for nothing, but some of the most high-profile boxing fights nowadays are youtube celebrities fighting retired athletes. I can definitely see a card where the Morris twins fight the Jokic clan generating $$$. Apparently all 4 train, so why not?

Id say the ratio of posts on here are
80% Both did cheap shots but Morris deserved what he got
5% Jokic is a hero
5% Jokic is evil
5% Who would win in a fight between Jokic bros and Morris brothers
5% Racism

It is not what you think it is. I really don't think it is a white guy/black guy thing.
The RealGM General Board - Home of the Jokic Fanboys
I think people are more likely to like and support those who look like them. The league has been waiting for a Luka for a long time as a marketing thing. I say that not to say it in a negative way though. It's like when Tiger Woods got popular and Black people started watching and supporting him. There's no secret it was because he was Black in a white sport, ya know? There was no animosity there though. It's golf.
It's different when you have sports like football and basketball and they get chippy though. The rhetoric here in this thread is that people actually ENJOYED watching Jokic do this. Hella dangerous. Then they see the Jokic brothers and they're thinking, 'Finally, we have somebody who's going to handle one of the Morris twins!' They want to see them hurt. They want retaliation for perceived history of the Morris twins.
Like I said earlier, I think if you think like that, you must be pussy. Serbia isn't rainbows and unicorns, but neither is Philly for a Black man. And them Morris boys have trained, so be careful what you ask for.
You sir have looked at this completely wrong so congrats of making something out of nothing here.
If Jokic did that to Bam, do you think people here would have said this stuff? No, it's because the Morris twins are jackasses that have numerous incidents where they try to "bully" players by thinking it makes them "tough."
This has nothing to do with race but more so about people being happy about an idiot getting his due. It's the exact same way when people hate Grayson Allen for being a cheap shot artist.

I dont think Morris was faking. He got hit in a vulnerable position and had a next hyperextension that caused a stinger and maybe a contusion.
Doubt that Jokic wanted to hit him like that and just wanted to retaliate in a similar way but he was pissed and lashed out in anger.

Morris, unprovoked, blindsided Jokic with a bodycheck/cheap shot to the ribs - and got a taste of his own medicine for it. I hope he's ok, but I don't have much sympathy for ppl who wanna play bully and then cry foul when someone pushes back.

A cheap shot for a cheap shot. I don't see any issue. One guy just happens to be stronger than the other
One guy did a hard foul on a player with the ball.
The other guy blindsided somebody outside of the flow of play.
Those are not comparable.
Oh, so cheap shots are cool in live ball situations?
Got it.

Jokic shot was legit. You watch your back after what Markief did. That is his bad for assuming no repercussions would come of that.
Morris is on twitter saying he would never hit someone with their back turned -- he blind sighted Jokic with that shoulder hit and then quickly turned his back from Jokic. He turned his back quickly to make it look like he was a victim lol.
How could he have been trying to look like the victim before anything had happened to him up to that point?
You could say he turned his back so that if Jokic was to push him hard on the back, he would look like the victim, but i don't give that much credit to Morris to pre-emptively plan all that, and no one actually wants to get pushed from behind like that anyways, so planning that would be odd.
He turned his back, because he knew he made an overly aggressive play and was trying to act like he didn't do much, because staying would invite ref review, etc. Basically the whistling and walking away like nothing happened, but that has little to do with being the victim.

Taking names out of it, what I see is Player X giving Player Y a bad elbow to the ribs (and making contact with Player Y's knee) that should have been a Flagrant. Then Player Y gets angry and gives him a full force forearm shot to the back. Like Player X's reaction to the hit may have been over the top at points, but he didn't flop when he got hit. There was a lot of force in that hit.
To me what Player Y did was worse, even though I get he didn't fire the first shot. The reaction was disproportionate to the foul he received.
Then when you replace the names to Morris, a known **** and a half (the fact he's brother is an even bigger one doesn't help him, but still), and Jokic, a guy who is almost universally liked, the narrative becomes different.

But isn’t that part of the point?
One player constantly does these bully like tactics that we all see and annoy us.
Another player does what we all wish would have happened a decade ago because we want to see basketball when we turn on the nba and fighting when we turn on mma and fake fighting when we turn on wwe.
There is a time and place for all this stuff - the Morris twins don’t know where they “work”
So yeah you right

Morris deserves an Oscar for that acting job last night.
Anyone else find it funny that Jimmy Butler was telling Jokic to meet him out back as if Jimmy would actually be able to do anything to a man 80lbs heavier than he is. Jokic would batter him.

Agreed but we know neither one of them talking about boxing - which is a shame. Jokic bros comjng to games… if they break a Morris twin they do 3-6 months and come home. Morris bros break a Bone and it cost them millions.
When only one person has something to lose and that’s you- the wise man moves on.
Morris boys need to chalk this up to game and keep it moving.

If your argument is that flagrant fouls where there is no play on the basketball should be legislated out of the game - with suspensions without pay meted out to those who do it - I am on board with that. There is no place in the game for non-basketball flagrant fouls.
What Jokic did was WORSE than that.
AFTER the whistle. Morris’ back turned.
There simply is ZERO comparison.
If you want to give Morris a 3-game suspension for his hit on Jokic, fine with me.
By that standard, Jokic gets 7-10 games.
How’s that?
If someone punches you in the head to stop a fast break, is that a basketball play just because it happened before a whistle? Give me a break. You have no clue. Morris elbowed Joker in full stampede. Jokic saw red and decked him. Case closed. Both should be suspended but Jokic has the moral high ground here.
The minute Jokic did something AFTER THE WHISTLE he lost the "moral high ground".
The foul by Morris on Jokic was a flagrant, non-basketball play that warranted an ejection. What Jokic did was unquestionably worse, IMO.

Fanboys for the reigning mvp… who would be a fan of the MVP? I mean it’s not like he is the most valuable player - lol
Jokic didn’t try to break his neck- jokic got pissed because he got body checked and body checked Morris.
I guess I’m a fan boy cause I like good basketball and I don’t want to see the best get hurt on some bs done by a journeyman rotation guy

I agree, In garbage time a scrub had an intentionally dirty play against an MVP. Jokic reaction, while not okay and hence being suspended, is totally natural and understandable. I have a feeling that people who think otherwise havent played sports at a competitive level.
