I agree here that his personal opinions on this stuff won't matter much - but I'm more concerned with him not being able to have dinner with the team, have a locker near the rest of the team, and sit near the team during film sessions, etc. I'm sure everyone will be professional with one another but JI will miss out on chemistry building simply because of these things. Whenever I played team sports it's always the stuff in between practice and games where inside jokes and deeper connections are formed but maybe he can make up for it on the court/bench and at practice?
I bet no one on the team cares anything about it.

Do you get along with all of your coworkers and neighbors?

Keep in mind that nobody showed up when Isaac invited his teammates to his first sermon.

I’m not saying it’s a problem. It is probably less of a problem at this point in time due to the absence of veterans around which you need to mind your Ps and Qs. That will change though, especially for a team that will lose a lot of games. A hierarchy will develop. Players will get bothered by their roles. Players will get bothered when teammates show preferences towards other teammates. Bigs, in particular, depend on ball handlers to feed them when they work to get open or in good spots.

There is so much more rancor and division in locker rooms than ever gets reported. We all know how Horace Grant’s tenure in Orlando ended. These protocols add another layer of complexity to the situation.

Ultimately, it is on Mosley to keep the ship running smoothly and I have no reason to doubt his ability to do so at this point.

TBF, those teammates that didn't show up aren't really here anymore right? :D

The protocols are moronic.

Twice in the last 2 weeks, my daughter has had to get a COVID test to go do something in California.

It literally takes 2 minutes, cost $25 and they had the results in 10 minutes.

Oh, and the results can be as old as 72 hours old ... in California!

He takes a test every 3 days and he is safer than any of his vaccinated teammates.

Literally, 2 minutes (no discomfort), $25, and results in 10 minutes.

My daughter had her results (both times negative) before we get home from the testing station.

Yup, living in san diego, i went to a concert 2 weeks ago, had to get tested with the results being with in atleast 72 hrs of the show, today im going to a comedy show.... had to do it again, but still havent gotten my results back and if they dont come in the next 8hrs, gonna have to spend $75 to get an instant test just to go to the show

Where did you do it for 25?

In Manhattan Beach, corner of Marine and PCH (Pacific Coast Highway). Don't know the name of the place. My 14 year old makes her own appointments online, it is literally that easy.

Oh, and the $25 is pre-tax $. We spend more at Carl's Jr than the cost of a COVID test (and results are delivered at about the same time).

There are zero reasons to make anyone not eat with the team, not be in the locker room and whatnot.

The nitwits here complaining about Isaac not being able to socialize with the team are just plain stupid.

The guy is making Millions of $'s each year and has already said he will take COVID tests as required.

My 14-year-old daughter makes her own appointment, she gets a code, shows up, shows her code, walks in, gets tested, and walks out in 5 minutes. Ten minutes later she has her results.

She is then free to go to any kind of event that requires a COVID vaccine and is as safe or safer than any vaccinated person.

I think that was an NBA rule, not something we are suggesting should be happening (atleast im not?)

Edit
-

Tried looking it up and this is an article i found about it
https://nba.nbcsports.com/2021/09/28/nba-coronavirus-protocols-lay-out-rules-for-unvaccinated-players/

Among the rules for unvaccinated players: They will not be able to eat in the same room with vaccinated teammates or staff, must have lockers as far away from vaccinated players as possible, and must stay masked and at least six feet away from all other attendees in any team meeting.

Further, unvaccinated players will be “required to remain at their residence when in their home market,” teams were told in the draft of the rules, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. They will also need to stay on team hotel properties when on the road. In both cases, there are limited permissible exceptions – such as going to buy groceries, taking children to school and the like.

And unvaccinated players also will not be permitted to visit “higher-risk settings,” the NBA said, such as restaurants, bars, clubs, entertainment venues, and large indoor gatherings.

I'm not buying it, something is up.

Someone needs to come out and let us know what's going on, he's supposed to be our best player and we have no idea what's up with him.

Its Called secretly tanking! Again there is no need to rush him back.

Best case scenario for this season is, he and Fultz shake off some rust by playing limited minutes 15-20 mpg.

There is essentially no real local media coverage of the Magic now that Josh Robbins moved to the Wizards, so there’s no one to grill the team about Isaac’s status. It would be nice if Bianchi would start digging but he’s focused on college football now.

If JI hasn’t had a setback, which I guess they claim he hasn’t, then it is very strange that he’s still out. And the team has no respect for the fans so we get no updates, which makes it more suspicious. Where is the video of Isaac working out, running, shooting? We see video of Fultz, we saw video of Okeke. I’m really not sure why they re-signed him.

Weltman said he won't put a timetable on any injury. So that will probably be the only update we receive.

Oh hey AaronB - welcome back! Do you have a source for your statement that the Orlando Magic organization doesn't have to follow NBA COVID protocols because of Florida state law? I've been waiting since page 5...

Per NBA Policy:

"Further, unvaccinated players will be “required to remain at their residence when in their home market,” teams were told in the draft of the rules, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. Do you honestly believe an employer can force a person to stay in their house? Or what fire them or fine them? Anyone who thinks that is legal is an idiot. If that was part of their original contract, OK, but an employer cannot enforce this draconian measure. Further, I will bet none of the teams are enforcing this policy because it is illegal.

Isaac himself has said before the season started that he wouldn't expect to be back until around Christmas. So moving them back to December 3rd is obviously not surprising.

"At least Dec. 3" does not say of what year !

Seriously though, Fultz won't be in Magic blue this year. It is depressing to hear that Isaac is still more than a month away from suiting up.

Do you remember when all teams moved to Orlando to play in a bubble? The rules above aren't nearly as egregious as the guidelines they had set up in the bubble. I'm sure unvaccinated players are violating these policies but obviously they won't be held accountable for violating these policies unless there's proof or someone leaking info.

Regardless of the "remain at their residence" policy, I'm sure teams are following the protocols inside their building/work spaces (separate locker room, no meals together, etc.) and on the road which are the places where teambuilding takes place - not on off days when players are home.

You still haven't provided any proof that Florida law takes precedence over NBA protocols. Seems like you want it to be the case but it isn't, in fact, the case.

When does "we're not going to put a timetable on injuries" become an open door for our players to just not play anymore?

I hope there's at least some pressure from Orlando to get JI back on the floor.

I don't think they have any pressure. They just got extended and they brought him back too early the last time.

It's just a bit odd - when's OK to bring him back then? 2x the typical rehab timetable? If he doesn't play until 2022, he'll almost be at that mark.

LOL ... you really want someone to believe that you do not understand that Florida Law (as well as Federal Law) takes precedence over a business policy? You have my pity.

I don't think it exists but I'm willing to change my mind if proven otherwise.
