Nonsense. Ive seen people get flagrants for stepping in landing zones this year and shoving someone going to the basket will be called 100% of the time if the officials see it.

Again, the changes do two things: stoping players from creating fouls themselves and actually allowing people to play defence in this league again.

Now they only need to remove the nonsense rule of protecting jumpshooters.

Though I agree with the Charmin soft league part as a whole, these numbers neglect that the game is played different. In the 2000s, the 3 was not feared as much and players were mostly shooting 3s when open (or if not open, Kobe was more likely to fade), thus players were not closing out the same way and if players were closing out hard the 3 simply was not taken. Now, defenses fear 3s way more, meaning fighting even more through even high screens desperate to get a hand in the face. Obviously until last year there was a lot of tricks done by offensive players to draw fouls though too, so on that front I'm glad a rule change was made.

Always consider him one of the true warriors in the league but I’m starting to question it.
