Apparently the league hasn't learned anything from past incidents. Scrubs on teams have incentive to instigate possible all star player suspensions. Good job Silver!

Morris sprinted up to Jokic with the intention of hurting him. Anyone thinking that was a basketball play is out of their mind.

Jokic gave Morris what he deserved - a one game suspension is about right.

Morris should have also gotten a game with his intent to injure - if Jokic had flopped down like Morris, Morris would have received 5+ games.

Seems like Jokic needs psychiatric counseling to control his rage issues. Anger management classes, to avoid being instigated against.

My first reaction was that Jokic should have gotten more than one but I guess that’s the same as Beverly got for a similar infraction on Paul.

I guess having Haslem on the roster still does have an actual purpose.

This big thug Jokic is the crybaby pretending like he doesn't hard foul other people?

Jokic needs to be reigned in. He is a thug.

Only upon video review, AFTER the incident blew up.

Which, as you can see, the system works if you follow the correct procedures.

All Jokic had to do was complain to the refs, and the Nuggets ask the League Office for a review, etc.. and Morris would have been hit with whatever they saw fit.

But you cannot defend what Jokic did.

1 game is not enough. This is a very very bad precedent and he's being treated with baby gloves.

He is the MVP. You can't go after the king, take a beating and then cry about it. Jokic was suspended with the Beverly precedent. Seems like this is over and settled. Why keep crying?

Is Morris an ass? Absolutely!

Does Jokic look like an ass after this? Absolutely!

Jokic looks like an ass to some Heat fans like yourself and barely anyone else. Jokic just stood up to the bully and that's how this will be remembered and there's not much you can do about it. I know you have to keep supporting Morris because he's on your team, so I understand your choice to live in your dream world where they look equally bad, but as you can see everywhere where this topic is discussed, 99% of people are siding with Jokic on this one.

1 game suspension is a JOKE. He was hit with a hard-ish foul on a legit basketball play. He didn't fall to the ground, or anything.

And his response is to slam into a defenseless players back when they aren't looking?

This is emotional rage that has NO place in the game. One was a basketball play, and one was not.

Jokic action was during dead ball and could have caused a brawl and injury. NO PLACE in basketball for what Jokic did, even if Morris hard fouled.

Jokic should be suspended AT LEAST 30 games, ON TOP OF the condition that he gets counseling for rage control.

Jokic got proper punishment on the other side your thug should have gotten multiple games suspension for starting the incident, justice wasn't served at all.

More thuggery from Jokic.

Ah yes, thuggery that doesn't even get called as a regular foul, let alone a flagrant.

Funny you say that, because Morris wasn't called a flagrant 2 either during the game.

Jokic needs anger management counseling, and 1 game suspension is not enough.

Funny you mention that, because it was immediately called a foul, and they review it (like almost every other flagrant) and then assess a flagrant foul.

In your video, was Jokic even called for a REGULAR foul?

Morris needs human decency courses, and a 0 game suspension is not enough - it sends a message of "You can go after a superstar, try to injure them, and be at the next game".

I think the 1 game suspension is a good punishment

Cause you really shouldn't retaliate

But with that being said, don't hip check someone if you're not prepared to get hit back. What Morris did was not a basketball play, and he should have been punished too.

Sorry, but you kinda can't watch Jokic elbow Kanter in the ribs like that and cry no harm no foul. It wasn't as bad as what Morris did, but it wasn't good. Nothing wrong with admitting that...

Lots of people acting high and mighty, ignoring one side and focusing on the other. I challenge anyone to put themselves in either players shoes before responding.

1. If you were Morris, would you sprint across court to blindside biggest guy on the court, possible injurying him, and just turn around expecting nothing will come out of it?

2. If you were Jokic and just got blindesided, would you ignore it?

If you dont answer either of those questions truly, you are not assessing the entire situation correctly. Im no tough guy. I avoid confrontation in any sort of form. However, i got blindsides once and i went ballistic. You can sit behind a keyboard and talk about the high roard. But once you personally are wronged, chances are you will react, and mostly not in a nice and polite manner.

Bottom line is, no matter how hard certain posters are trying to make Morris play a "basketball play", neither play was that. Morris play was unprovoked, Jokic was a response. Both were cheap shots. Players got punished and its time to move on.

Instead, Heat is trying to escalate things with Jimmy, with team confrontation, with Spo talking about face to face confrontation, Haslem comparing Jokic take fouls with Morris "take" fouls and what not (dont get me wrong, Jokic is not an angel, but these are not comparable). To me, biggest difference in this entire event are 2 things:

1) 1 cheap shot was provoked, the other one wasn't
2) One player apologized for his actions and the other one, that started it, responded by keeping score, implying this will continue.
