Again, the changes do two things: stoping players from creating fouls themselves and actually allowing people to play defence in this league again.

We now know these dudes are not better scorers than guys that played in 90s with the hand check and we should give all 90’s early 2000s guys a 15 to 20% scoring boost if we compare the players from different eras!

I feel like there's two things going on here and everyone's being a TOTAL casual about it and not differentiating.

The unnatural motion thing is the actual rule change. They're not rewarding flopping anymore. I think we can all agree on that being good for the sport. Foul baiting absolutely needs to be ignored or punished.

Then there's the fact that the refs are allowing a lot more contact than before on drives. I've seen multiple intentional fouls not called this year. Drivers are getting mugged every game. That's a bit more questionable, and I think it's fair to question whether making it harder to get to the rim is something the game wants or needs right now. Mugging guys on the way to the rim isn't good defense.

Like I've been saying... welcome to Curry's world. He's been having to score despite aggressive defenses constantly swarming him. :lol:

Ever since the 2013 Playoffs when Denver's gameplan was to rough him up as much as possible and hope the refs don't see or call everything, that's how teams have been playing. Steph will get a 4-point play once every 10-15 games, but other than that he gets grabbed and held and scratched off-ball, and when he has the ball in his hands and drives in he constantly gets hit in the paint but refs never call it because they don't view him as a naturally physical player for some reason. Maybe because he has a reputation as a shooter, refs don't expect him to be a physical player. Even his MVP years he rarely got calls.

And he never pulled this kind of garbage when he entered the league. He's a talented scorer, he doesn't need to flail forwards to score, he could have taken a normal jump shot and he could always easily drive past Green.

The biggest problem with the past officiating is that it took talented players like Harden & Lillard and warped their games to this unwatchable garbage, when they were fully capable of playing great basketball.

Yeah this type of garbage is what is unacceptable.
If the league goes back to rewarding manufactured stars with FTs for this nonsense I'll definitely be looking for something else to watch in my free time.
It really took any joy out of the game and had nothing to do with basketball. League should be embarrassed they let it get to that point in the first place.
