Do you remember when all teams moved to Orlando to play in a bubble? The rules above aren't nearly as egregious as the guidelines they had set up in the bubble. I'm sure unvaccinated players are violating these policies but obviously they won't be held accountable for violating these policies unless there's proof or someone leaking info.

Regardless of the "remain at their residence" policy, I'm sure teams are following the protocols inside their building/work spaces (separate locker room, no meals together, etc.) and on the road which are the places where teambuilding takes place - not on off days when players are home.

You still haven't provided any proof that Florida law takes precedence over NBA protocols. Seems like you want it to be the case but it isn't, in fact, the case.

LOL ... you really want someone to believe that you do not understand that Florida Law (as well as Federal Law) takes precedence over a business policy? You have my pity.

I'm still waiting on any sort of source or proof that the Orlando Magic don't have to follow the NBA covid protocols.

I don't think it exists but I'm willing to change my mind if proven otherwise.

Look a squirrel! Nice try.

You clearly don't understand how intelligent discourse works.

You made a claim that I think most on this board don't believe is true - it's not my responsibility to blindly believe you. The NBA COVID protocols are published for the public to see - that's the source material and the information that we should deem as true until another source proves it incorrect. You haven't done that - just called names and stated you disagree with the protocols.

Looks like they're trying to dictate what businesses can do, but haven't made legislation as of now.

That's government, not business and it's just Desantis talk.

Unfortunately, intelligent discourse cannot take place if 1 party does not understand that state law takes precedence over company policy. Ultimately, a company policy cannot require someone to stay in their house when not at work. You don't understand this very basic concept and I pity you.

I will leave this conversation at that.

I understand it just fine. You don't seem to understand the difference between something being illegal and something being a violation of an employment contract. JI isn't going to get arrested for leaving his house or eating dinner with the team but the team can punish/fine JI for violating protocol and the NBA can punish/fine the Orlando Magic for not following protocol.

At the end of the day, the Orlando Magic have to follow the NBA COVID protocols whether you incorrectly think they are illegal or you disagree with them in general.

Show me anything that's not simply your words telling us that that's not true.

Do you get along with all of your coworkers and neighbors?

Keep in mind that nobody showed up when Isaac invited his teammates to his first sermon.

I’m not saying it’s a problem. It is probably less of a problem at this point in time due to the absence of veterans around which you need to mind your Ps and Qs. That will change though, especially for a team that will lose a lot of games. A hierarchy will develop. Players will get bothered by their roles. Players will get bothered when teammates show preferences towards other teammates. Bigs, in particular, depend on ball handlers to feed them when they work to get open or in good spots.

There is so much more rancor and division in locker rooms than ever gets reported. We all know how Horace Grant’s tenure in Orlando ended. These protocols add another layer of complexity to the situation.

Ultimately, it is on Mosley to keep the ship running smoothly and I have no reason to doubt his ability to do so at this point.

Yup, i remember that. Little weird that NOT ONE showed up.

Also, besides the vax stuff, dont forget he was one of the only guys in the whole league who didnt kneel during the BLM protest\national anthem stuff in the bubble last year

Im not trying to sound like criticizing his choices, i truly believe everyone should be able to make their own decisions and do whats best for them, and i have no problem with his stance on any of those choices...........But i know thats not the case for everyone.

So once again, will his off the court decisions hurt him (vax, blm, religion) in the locker room, especially when you consider that the anti-vax stance will keep him out of some games and keep him away from his teammates during other activities?

I just ordered from Am... a home COVID test kit. It supposedly works with an app that somehow makes the test an official pass or fail that can be used for events and other things like. Two test kits for about $35. Not sure how it works yet, but we will give it a try. That is under $20 per test and you get the result in 15 minutes. A lot better than $75 and easier to implement if everything works as advertised.

The NBA has to follow state or city guidelines for the vaccination.

Yes, when there are rules in place. But there are currently no rules prohibiting the NBA from establishing COVID protocols for the Orlando Magic.

Isaac said he'll be back in a couple weeks at the conservatism conference.

Mods - Can we make a thread called "Let's make everything political" or the "I hate everything thread" and just use this one for updates on Issac???

I'm pretty sure they tried those but people went everywhere to do both of those things anyway.

A fellow Michgander who's an Orlando Magic fan!? Love it.

Isaac's vaccination status has a real impact on him playing basketball for the Magic so it seems like it should be fine in this thread? No one is debating vax vs anti-vax. People are trying to figure out what protocols Isaac has to follow as the only unvaccinated Magic player.

And Isaac spoke at a conservatism conference last week when he was initially supposed to be back playing for the Magic. Regardless of the conference, it's again worthy of conversation when there's literally no other news about our highest paid player.

I’m honestly ok with what he said on the video. I want everyone to get vaccinated and have a different take on some of the science.

Science and COVID will have more to say in the coming years and we need to be thoughtful and open to move us fully past it.

Basketball is also not his 1# passion.
