Shooting and D have been very good. But yes the bungling plays are frustrating as a fan. But if he didn't have those, then he'd be in a different price tier and this would be a different discussion.

I don’t think there’s any good spin on this, the Lakers made a horrible call here.

I will say there’s also culpability for OKC for letting him go in the first place. Blew that.

I think you'll find if you look at the salaries of previous championship teams, that that's not what they look like.

Of course, the Lakers are paying the max for a guy who gives you less that you'd want from a role player, so it's probably best not to look at what Pelinka's doing as some kind of 3D chess.

Uh, what about when the Lakers won the title like 13 months ago? Half the team was 10m role players

THT is a future project. Caruso is 7 years older. I love Caruso but im picking THT over him. Much better on offense and defense is going to improve over the years.

Thrilled seeing him thrive at Chi-town though. How can you not root for the pope!

The way I see it, if we didn't trade for Westbrook, we'd have Caruso, THT, KCP and Hield. This shouldn't be about THT Vs Caruso, but about Westbrook vs a bunch of players.

We basically sacrificed an extremely deep team to have westbrook

Oh i agree with you completely. I hate that we made that WB trade.

I like Alex.

The Lakers are a bunch of minimum contracts + AD and WB right now. THT and Nunn really need Alex’s minutes to grow. We haven’t seen a healthy Lakers team yet. THT is going to look so fresh

I think the Lakers projection for him are going to turn out to be accurate - that his new team was going to overpay him and his Chicago contract is going to be the biggest contract of his career. He may even end up back on the Lakers for the minimum after the Bulls.

In other words, the Lakers offer was fair and actually generous because AC is not really even worth 2 years $15 million. He's absolutely not worth what the Bulls are paying him which is close to $10 million per season.

The Lakers got the best value out of Caruso and Chicago will get the worst value out of Caruso.

Another reason why the Lakers win here is because Austin Reaves has replaced Caruso on an undrafted rookie salary and he's already better than Caruso.

Damn, still got anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance to go through. I’m sorry for your loss. Just tell yourself “he’s in a better place”……

Caruso ought to win 6MOY.

Screw stats. The guy gives our bench mob killer instinct and identity.

“Defensive liability” is so patently false. 2.3 steals per game off the bench. 6 steals tonight. Lol.

Expected huh? That’s because net negative tends to be just a trash term used by people that don’t understand on/off stats, that need to say something…. But Caruso is still the same decent defender.

Its a clear reverse trend from his last 4 seasons as you can see from that image. If anything, I'd have expected him to be down offensively a Chicago has no depth and he struggles without a primary creator like LeBron.

On/off after 10 games? And you want to be taken seriously?

Yep he had a few stinkers this season as anyone would especially with a whole new squad, but tonight was his best game yet for the Bulls and he continues to hustle his ass off and just make smart plays.

We would be significantly worse off without him. When he signed I was lukewarm on it because I really, really liked Daniel Theis as a Celtic and thought he was a great fit here. Caruso has me already forgetting (I wish we had both).

He’s playing so relaxed, as you’d expect now that he no longer needs to carry Lebron………
