Fantastic game from Monk. As I said at the start of the thread, he's a Heat-killer. Great game from Davis, too, and a triple-double from Westbrook. Ball was really moving in the fourth quarter and overtime. But that one mental error from Carmelo almost cost LA the game.

Hell of a game for Monk. 27 points on 10/13 from the field, 16 of those points in the 4th quarter and OT.

We do a lot of dumb stuff down the stretch of games.. holy smokes.

And I gotta say it, because I would absolutely be the one to criticize him. Westbrook was spectacular. He limited the mistakes, he played under control and in the fourth quarter he was magical. 10 points and 6 assists in the fourth quarter alone.

I loved the Monk signing then and I love it now. I also loved the Melo signing, Dwight, Ariza and Ellington. The only move I hated (other than Westbrook) was bringing back Caruso over THT. We could have had:

Westbrook/Nunn
Ellington/Caruso/Monk
LeBron/Bazemore/
Davis/Melo/Ariza
Howard/Jordan/

Having Caruso just makes so much more sense. Ugh.

Ain't no one in the east beating the Lakers over 7 games If our top 3 stars are playing and not injured

P.s Westbrook's first triple double as a Laker? Vs a good team :)

Not nearly as confident as you... Heat had several key players out including Butler, and we basically won on luck.

I'm in one game at a time, mode right now, no matter who we're playing... We just aren't really playing cohesive team ball at a high level right now, and we weren't with LeBron on the floor either...

That said, if Bradley and Monk play like this, and we get THT back and he plays elite D, we'll be in a much better place.

This can't be his first triple double, can it?

Also, Russ played a superb game up until the end of the fourth, then he chose to take the last 3 in regulation himself, despite having Melo next to him guarded by Hero, who melo had been scoring on regularly... Then in OT he kept forcing things and missing defensive rotations... Credit where due... he was much better defensively in the first 3 quarters than he had been all year so far, but he also made some really bad decisions at the end that could have cost us the game... Not as bad as Melo's 5 sec inbound failure... But still.

Haterz still have a right at the moment... But it seems to be getting better.

Not sure lol haven't seen all the games/boxscores different time zone/country and work a lot.

I know he has come close most games, but pretty sure this the first one - could possibly be wrong LOL

The Heat were missing Morris and Butler. Yes, that’s significant, but the Lakers were missing Lebron, THT, Reaves, and Nunn. The Lakers were missing far more talent in that game than Miami.

Lowkey I think we're fine.

After going 0-6 in the preseason and starting 0-2 the season, I didn't think we'd end up 7-5 especially with the amount of injuries we had(Lebron being available for basically half our games) and the way we were playing. Easy schedule or not.

Remember, we still dropped 2 gimmies against the Thunder, we should've been 9-3. That would have been the second best record in the conference.

Agreed. How different would the season feel right now with even one of those victories, let alone both? 8-4 or 9-3 in spite of Lebron having missed 6 games? We’d have all taken that.

Sadly, the team DID blow those two games, and they can’t really afford to drop either of the next two, both to bad teams. After that? Hopefully Lebron is back in time for the Chicago game.

It’s early in the season. And even if we won by luck like we did, I’ll take the win against the Heat. I thought we’d be crushed.

We’re giving up way too many buckets.

It’s good to see AD slowly coming out of hibernation

My favorite Russ game so far and favorite moment was when he was chasing Duncan Robinson and fought over two screens and contested. He actually played his ass off and defended like the Russ that played with KD tonight

If he’s a HEAT KILLER, is he the new AC? :D

you take any win you can get

BUT...

I have no problem with Westbrook attacking the basket for a game winner,

But if this dumbass again takes a jumper when he has MELO wide open (being defended by Herro who has no chance to alter his shot)
I swear I would sit him next game

MELO was about to make game winner in La La Land.
Stop being so disrespectful.

I didn't expect us to win this game but we did. Monk played a great game.

I still need Westbrook to calm down on those turnovers, but this game was a step in the right direction. Still a long way to go to convince me that Westbrook fits well on this team.
