I'm hoping for Wiseman to get easy points off lobs and put backs for 10ppg at least.

I think those two skills, plus slashing and PnR should be the scope of his offensive arsenal. I could easily see him 16 ppg, 8 rbs and 2 blocks.

I bet if you give this playing time to Wiseman in this kind of team he would surely put up beautiful numbers as well.

Except Mobley is helping the Cavs play -- gulp -- winning basketball. So far in the early season, they've beaten Denver, (at Denver) the Clippers (at Clippers), Charlotte, Portland and Toronto. He and Jarrett Allen have masked the defensive deficiencies of that small Garland/Sexton back court and some have already put Mobley in the all-defensive first team conversation -- probably an overreaction, but still. With Mobley and Garland -- a player Steph really likes and has reached out to personally -- Cavs are definitely one of the young teams I'm watching more closely on league pass this year.

The Wiseman/Mobley comparisons come naturally, as they were the two top big men in their respective back to back HS recruiting classes (2019 and 2020) and played against each other in a HS game that was televised nationally on ESPN.

I think Wiseman still has potential to be an effective player on this team and system. We'll just all be happier as Warriors fans to not make the Mobley/Wiseman comparisons ourselves. At least for now.

Cavs have been fun this year their choice of Allen and Rubio have paid off well so far. Add Mobley and this is a legit fun team to watch. Really need garland to step up this year

I've liked both Rubio and Allen for a long time. Rubio went off today. 8 threes!

I love Rubio's game after he has learned how to shoot some. For some reason, most still think he can't do anything with the ball other than pass.

I am still pissed off that Myers chose Oubre over him for trade with OKC.

Rubio would have been awesome here, especially this year with all of our shooting and playmaking.

Any concrete news on Wiseman's return yet? If he's doing full practices he has to be close, right?

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

They showed some Wiseman highlights at the game last night and I always forget how huge he is. Large frame. He could cover a lot of ground below the 3point line -- hope Green and Iggy are teaching him help defense and reading the floor from down there.

If Wiseman isn’t going on the road trip, is he going to Santa Cruz to (at least) scrimmage?
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

Yes.

I was wondering though.

Santa Cruz plays in OKC Friday (12th) and Sunday (14th). Then they play in Salt Lake City Wednesday (17th) and Friday (19th).

When is that scrimmaging going to take place? Where? Is he going on the road with the SeaDubs?

I am just hoping he actually learned from the extra coaching that last couple of months.

We should see soon.

Kerr probably didn't know SC schedule at the time. So they will bring in players.

To be fair to Kerr, when he made the statement he listed a bunch of options for who JW might scrimmage with. It was Slater’s tweet that made it sound like it was probably Santa Cruz.

My hope would be about the same per36 as last year with these changes:

- probably less points, but more efficient with lower usage
- slight uptick in rebounding and blocks (over 10 and 2 per 36)
- most importantly, not tanking the net +/- when playing with main rotation players

Doesn't seem like much of an ask, but that last one is very tough. That means he's learning to play in our system and won't just be a garbage time player this year (which luckily is fine this year if that is the case, he can develop with our 2 rooks).
