Vuc in Health and Safety Protocol (Shams: Will be out 10 days/6 games)

Man, 6 games is rough especially since he was starting to get it going offensively. Bradley is going to fill in nicely on the boards and will clog the paint, but we probably could use someone other than Johnson off the bench. Simonovic will probably get called up, but not sure we can really rely on him.

I guess it's time to find out how Bradley and Alize fare in extended minutes. Bradley provides more interior defense and solid rebounding and Alize provides non-stop hustle...but our offense/spacing is going to be much much worse. Hopefully Coby is ready to go soon. I think our rotation will look something like this:

Ball / AC
Lavine / White
DDR / Ayo
Green / DJJ
TBJ / Alize / Marko

We can probably get away with giving DJJ some spot minutes at the 5 against some teams. A lineup of Ball, AC, Zach, DDR, and DJJ would be interesting, with everyone being about the same height and fairly athletic.

Hopefully no one else on the team goes down with a breakthrough case...

I don’t see us signing anyone new for a 10 day contract, we will just call up Marko or Cook to the active roster and start Bradley with Alize getting most of the backup minutes.

Ugh. That sucks. Bulls front court depth will be tested to the max the next 6 games. We need a serviceable big man to fill in.

This is only the beginning, with the amount of Sixers in protocol when we played them and after. I expect more Bulls players to test positive in the coming days and weeks.

And of course there will be other Bulls who got it from Vuc before he was quarantined. As others have said, Vuc probably got it from the Sixers. Probably Embiid.

Thats exactly what I was afraid of. Embiid playing Vuce twice in a week. He was bound to be ground zero.

Now the problem is, will it then spread thru our team like it did with Philly. I freaking hope not.

Good news is that it's 10 days for him to just be in a gym and practice his shot over and over again with the new ball. Assuming he's asymptomatic of course.

Bradley and Alize are up. Defense will be a lot better, offense will be a lot worse.

Losing 2 of your 5 starters is a tall order to figure out. Big man depth was never good, but now it's going to be really tough.

The NBA's Covid rules make no sense. Why 10 days? That seems completely arbitrary. Why not just a negative test?

I suspect—though I could be wrong—that somebody who is vaccinated will recover quicker than somebody who is unvaccinated. If he tests negative before the 10 days, then he should be allowed to play.
