Missing bunnies early. Take it assertively.

We're whiffing a LOT of chances from rebounds, steals, good D but errant passes and bad finishes at the rim are not going our way. Too tentative.

We also missed a couple of switches on D on their drives and we need to make sure we're contesting the 3 well, too.

When Bryn dribbles bad things happen. A bad pass TO followed by a bad pass TO... STOP IT. Move off ball and shoot.

We're 4-9 from 3, great! But we're 8-22 overall FGAs so half of our made shots have been beyond the arc. FFS.

It's like the basket is made of egg shells and we're gingerly trying to not disturb it. Well DISTURB THAT RIM, SPURS!

And some players ie/ Lonnie are back to bad habits. At least twice he went for one-and-done drives with no teammate touching the ball. Missed bunnies.

It's resulting in some weaker D with allowing drives down the middle. Communicate, player harder, tougher.

We're finally showing some more fight to our game. It's not that we were slow, the pace has been good, but we're too dainty and have needed more sandpaper. Now we've gone a a run to cut their 12-point lead down to 5. Keep pushing it!

Doug is 1-2 half way through the 2ND Q. HE NEEDS MORE SHOTS.

I like Lonnie hard physical drives to the rim but his finishing is still not much better than when he entered the league. He just hasn't made any adjustments. There's a reason why he's 1-5 and Devin is 3-5 (was just 2-3 with twice as many points as LWIV). One guy has already made adjustments to creating space and making shots, the other... You just can't rely on Lonnie making the shots with the ball in his hand.

2ND Q: SPURS 57

The good news is we have scored 57 points at the half on far more respectable efficiency. In fact our efficiency is now at least on par and better than our opponent. But timing is crucial. Their last three 3s were ridiculous, just past half court. WTF can you do?

So the bad news is that that lead trim quickly ballooned to 11 at the half.

The thing is, it's not that they're scoring at a scorching efficiency, it's that they have 10 more FGAs. None of us have double digits in attempts at this point. They're also getting a lot of second chances on O boards. We have to gang rebound and bang them around.

I like that Keldon is taking and making his 3s tonight, but Doug is the guy for that.

Derrick is only 1-3... Neither of those numbers is good.

We seem to be overly careful in creating something on O and if we don't make most of each chance then it feels like we believe we're at the mercy of ridiculous shots going in the other way.

They're also getting the switches they want with our bigs on the perimeter and smaller players guarding their 7'3" C. Recognition, help D, right switches so Drew can be down low.

I like that DJ is pushing the vertical direction and making good dishes and passes back to trailers. That had opened up the key for us. When we push in transition, though, they are making a concerted effort to foul us like I think the first game if not both previous ones versus them. DJ's cross court passes have resulted in some open attempts as well.

We have to get tougher and play harder, limit one and done shots, and recognize the roles of the guys we have - get Doug the ball at the arc, get Devin the ball more he has the scoring touch tonight, and more movement and pace in terms of how many shots we take.

On the other end, we have to force more lose balls, deflections and TOs. More full court pressure and preventing Luka from even getting the ball is a way to go.

An end of clock blocked shot on a Keldon drive on one end and we're getting pounded down low again and again.

We got the ball to Doug so that's a positive.

But just recognition of time and play - we aren't the team that takes end of clock, but balance that with no one and done shots where no other player touches the ball.

Bryn made one good man D coverage followed by ANOTHER bad pass - not looking where he was passing before he turned around to make it - and they stole it for a dunk .

WHY ARE WE ALLOWING DONCIC TO BRING UP THE BALL COMPLETELY UNCONTESTED, ALLOWING HIM TO SURVEY THE SCENE AND MAKE THE RIGHT PLAY? WHY ARE WE ALLOWING TO HAVE THE BALL IN HIS HANDS?

I was almost happy but then I realized there's another Q to go lol

It's raining 3s... for them. Funny how when we contested them they actually missed...

As good as we looked last game in finding open guys and figuring out a variety of ways to score is as bad as we look here so far. A quick full sub early in the Q after a lacklustre start but we have no answers and look shaken and stirred.
