Five years ago everyone would've say Westbrook over Kyrie but today, most would take Kyrie (the basketball player not the person) in an instant, in spite of Westbrook's triple doubles.

It's Magic, CP3, Steph, Oscar (was he a point or shooting guard?), Stockton, Nash, Kidd, Isiah, and Russell in some order.

Kyrie is a better shooter than all but Steph and Nash. He has the best handle and can get to his spot the best of the entire group. He has a ring and hit the game winning shot to do it. He has 7 All Stars and 3 All NBA teams. That's honestly where he's lacking the most: the All NBA teams and All Stars, because he's been injured so much. Again, I don't see top 4, but it's closer than people want to acknowledge.

Kyrie ain't better than Gary Payton, Allen Iverson, and Walt Fraizer either.

Big O was a Point Guard, even though during his time, they were only called just guards.

Peak Kyrie for a season or series maybe you could make the argument.

Top 4 PG legacy? That’s a tough case to
make when considering how many games he’s missed in his prime and his overall unreliability.

Iggy says a lot of dumb sht for a supposed super smart guy.

Hard to be a top 4 PG ever when all you have is one All-NBA second team and two third teams. Even tougher when you have never received even a single fifth-place MVP vote.

He is arguably not even top-4 in today's NBA. Leaving off-court stuff aside, is anyone taking Kyrie ahead of:

1. Steph Curry
2. Luka Doncic
3. Chris Paul
4. James Harden
5. Damian Lillard

That team was excellent defensively and irving just dismantaled them in a way I haent seen a guy that small do. The guy hits so many tough shots and contested finishes and is still extremely efficent. dre thinks he klay draymond and that team are some of the best defenders ever, and kyrie just straight up iso pullup on them repeatedly, broke them down and finished over them in ways that people dont even think to do.

What a joke, good luck to Kyrie against the REAL best defenders ever.....Jordan, Pippen, Harper, Rodman.... plus various Piston defenses over the years.... they may Klay Thompson look slow and frail....

If he wasn't injury prone, crazy, or played defense maybe?

Over/under of Tony Parker I'd understand action either way.

There still dumb dumb fans who think NBA players know a lot about nba history and stuff? Kyrie Irving is not even a top 4 PG of his time.

Self-serving, nothing more to see here.

What a silly take. You're claiming:

1) Iguodala knows about the contingent of NBA fans who say, "The Warriors only won titles because of injuries and a snake"
2) He cares enough to want to change their minds
3) Andre thinks anything he says will change their minds
4) Warriors haters will value Andre's historical ranking of point guards
5) Iggy thinks that Warriors doubters -- people who don't give the Warriors credit for beating the best (or, at worst, the second best) NBA player of all time in three Finals -- will suddenly become believers if they think that Kyrie is better that Isiah

That is patently absurd. Literally no one -- not one person on this planet -- is going to change their view of the Warriors three titles because of this Iguodala quote.

Do you really think otherwise?

1. Of course Iggy knows this narrative. He's a smart guy who uses the internet. The argument isn't they only won because of injuries though and you know that. But he knows the Warriors were viewed as a superteam, of course.

He probably knows the narrative, I will agree with that. Probably. But that is the first link the in the chain that all must be true for your silly assertion that Iguodala is trying to manipulate public opinion of the Warriors by praising Kyrie.

Texas Chuck wrote:2. Iggy has made it clear time and again he cares what people think. Not sure why you are arguing this?

Wait, there is a huge leap that you just made here. Iguodala may care what people, in general, think. But that is very different than thinking that he is greatly bothered by people diminishing the Warriors titles, which was your assertion. KD pretty clearly was bothered -- but Andre hasn't been the same.

And, FWIW, Iggy gets virtually no criticism himself. He joined the team before they were contenders, put his ego to the side to win and was a playoff hero. He's won 3 championships, Olympic gold and is widely respected among his peers and the public. You really think he lost any sleep because Pharmcat thought Curry was exposed?

Texas Chuck wrote:3. Iggy isn't speaking to those fans. He's speaking to his teammates and to Warriors fans like you.

Wait a second! Now you're saying that Iggy needs to resort to manipulation to make me think more of the Warriors titles? Seriously? THAT is your argument?

Let me help poor Andre, who is clearly reading this thread and fretting about my opinion: Dear Andre, I don't diminish the Warriors titles because two of them were won by a superteam. I was happy with KD joining the team and enjoyed all of the championships.

Let me also help JJ Redick, who clearly was trying to make me feel better about the Warriors titles by praising Love: Dear JJ, I'm cool, no need to make me try and feel better. But thanks for trying.

Texas Chuck wrote:4. Warriors haters is such a silly term. Who are these people? Anyone who isn't a fan?
.

You've probably never heard the term "hater" before so don't understand that it does not mean "someone who isn't a fan" but instead means "a person who has an intense dislike for another person or thing..."

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/hater

So, maybe you were not familiar with the term "hater" and honestly thought that I was referring to people ambivalent about the Warriors rather than posters who openly professed their hatred of the team.

Then again, I guess it doesn't matter because you're claiming Iguodala wasn't trying to speak to them but, instead, trying to speak to ME. I am so honored.

Texas Chuck wrote:5. This last point has at least some validity and relevance to my post so glad we got here.

Really? SOME validity? Thanks. So you are saying there is no validity to the idea that Iggy doesn't think he can change the minds of people who put an asterisk next to the Warriors titles?

Texas Chuck wrote:6. I think all the Warriors titles are just as valid as every other title. Each one worth the championship of that season. They owe nobody any apologies for anything. But yeah Iggy is definitely trying to bolster their achievement. We've seen this from him before.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got called out for being ridiculous and rather than saying, yeah, it was a little bit of a reach, you are claiming to KNOW FOR CERTAIN that:

1) Andre Iguodala pays attention to Reddit and RealGM criticism of his team, 2) That bothers him, 3) He thinks he can change that perception, 4) That people who doubt the accomplishments of the Warriors will trust Iggy's point guard rankings, and 5) People who weren't convinced by beating LeBron three times in the Finals will be convinced that they beat Kyrie once.

And the first 4 points are not only wrong but have no validity.

I guess it's really hard for you to just admit, yeah, what you said was a bit silly and you decided to double down instead. I'm dying to hear your JJ Redick explanation now.
“I pretty much played the last three games with a broken hand,” James said as he sat there with a softcast on the right hand.

He’s overrated by some NBA players but if you say he’s not a top 10 pg that’s taking the backlash too far IMO.

Let's see here..

Magic, Oscar, Curry, Paul, Nash, Kidd, Stockton, and Frazier are easily above him. That's 8.

If you have West and Harden as PGs, they are obviously also better.

Isiah is more in the Gary Payton tier.

i dont think you can have harden and west as pgs on that list, they havent played enough of it to be there. is there anyone else you have above zeke? He kinda seems like a bit above payton because he was better offensively, but im not sure where he is compared to nash kidd and stockton because the individual/team accolades and longevity of the others makes it tough. Is there a bigger gap between payton and thomas, or thomas and say stockton,, who i think is the worst of the people you put above him.

West played over 10 seasons in total, and was the PG almost every year of his career.

Without Lebron, Kyrie was a lottery team so that isn’t a top 4 in my book.

I honestly don’t even think he’s a top 5 PG of the last 5 years, let alone 4th all time lmfao.

Like if you took the best season of all PGs within the time frame of 2016-21, I’d take the following guys at their peak season on my team over Kyrie:

Curry
Paul
Westbrook
Lillard
Lowry

And that’s obviously excluding guys who aren’t really PGs but more so playmaking wings (Harden, Doncic, etc).

There is no way Lowry is better than Irving. Lowry is extremely overrated on this board.

Lowry might be the most underrated player in league history
