Honestly it baffles me how people still think that a player like JV could solve any of this team problems !! Do I need to remind you guys that we had him along with Deebo and Lowry and still managed to come short every time ?! JV's low BBIQ, awful defense and him not being able to stretch the floor were some of the reasons why we traded him in the first place, We need a center who is not a liability on defense, can rebound and stretch the floor.

I have a lot of love for Valanciunas and strongly believe we did him a disservice by not developing him properly. Not sure if that falls on Casey or Colangelo but it is what it is.
He didn't complain once being in and out of lineups and was a professional throughout. Similar to DeRozan, you have to respect the fact that he made the most out of what he had and is good in his own way although that may not necessarily fit today's NBA.
Having said that, currently, I can't imagine a trade that would benefit us after. So no.

Pretty sure jv can’t be traded this year. Otherwise I’d over dragic, precious and a 2nd for him.

JV was always good in play offs, he didnt win with raptors cause he never had Kawhi and he faced LeBron team every time.

Would solid interior scoring and rebounding offset the below average foot speed and slow defensive rotations?
Perhaps on some teams, but not on the defense the raps play.

We need to somehow emulate what the Bucks did with Giannis. 4 outside 1 in type of line up.
Like I'm telling everyone to build this team with Barnes we have to get High IQ players that can shoot the hell out of a basketball. That means no Boucher, no Achiuwa and certainly no Siakam. Fred has to adapt into a Kyle Lowry player where he can be the secondary distributor on offense. We need a high IQ big C that can shoot and block shots essentially a Gasol/Brook Lopez type. Lastly we need CONSISTENT shooters at all spot than can defend. Barnes is the future of this team, don't let success of our other players determine the future goals of its organization.

The truth? JV carried us for many playoffs while Lowry and DD struggled. That's the truth.
100% opposite. Explain Ibaka moving to centre and we beat the bucks, as well as the 76er's the year after, or the only wins vs CLE. Well everyone will make up a story for it, but is simply getting JV out of the starting five spot for anyone.

Throw in Boucher and/or other non core pieces. But even then would Pels do it?
Boucher playing next to Zion would be one of the strangest frontcourt parings ever in terms of body types.

This board thrives in living in the past, from countless threads about bring Vince back, to Demar no matter how poorly thought through. Like a clingy, delusional ex.

JV isn't the answer at all. He's still getting torched in the pick n roll, and against any guard really.

His offense outweighs his defense for this team.
We need scoring bad and JV’s offense would do wonders to our team and open things up for other players.
I’ll take the 20/10 for poor rim protection and no help defense.

Boucher can piggyback on Zion and merge into a 12 foot player, i bet zion can still jump with boucher on his back.

Have you guys heard of the guy named Andre Drummond? JV is like a synonym.

He didn’t carry anything. He was a guy who just filled in the statistical blocks on the score sheet because he’s usually the biggest guy on the court who has some offensive BBIQ.
JV wouldn’t be able guard like Gasol and fill in the spaces in the paint and in the PnR - esp against a guy like Giannis.
He’s an inconsequential player who doesn’t affect winning as much as his statistical score box say he is.
He’s the white Andre Drummond.

JV strong candidate to make West allstar team ... yeah whatever
Not why he got traded. He got traded because he takes the ball out of Morants hands and eats up too many possessions in the low post. Those are basically like iso possessions. Memphis wanted to fully hand the team to Morant.
