I’d be OK something like..

Wolves:
Ben Simmons

Pistons:
Tobias Harris
2022 Sixers Pick
Jaden Springer

Sixers:
DLo
Jerami Grant
Wolves 2022 Pick

Yup. Ive also been saying this and think this is the best.

Embiid and KAT will make each other one of the best players in the league. You also generate a lot of mismatches in the playoffs while potentially neutralizing Giannis and the Bucks’ size.

I have far less concerns with adding something to Ben for KAT than for Beal or LaVine & don’t think that it would be much anyway

Ben/Ant/D’lo is way better than KAT/Ant/D’lo plus the Wolves know it as they have been down that road

My only question is Ben’s mental state

Read Bjorn Borg’s autobiography

Performance anxiety is real and it’s a terrible thing

IF Ben is going through things then he’s basically worthless as he’s just as likely to retire as play again

Not just that but DLO-Beasley-ANT. Ben allows you to have a DLo-Beasley backcourt work, then you can just dump the ball to Ant to bail you out.

To build around KAT, the blueprint should be how the Raps or Wolves build around Siakam or Giannis. They should go after Boucher or Porzingis.

Yes it is. But he can afford to retire with all the money he made, when you accumulate so much money you only need to invest like half of your money and it's a cakewalk, yeah it will not be the same money obviously but if it's so bad that you are depressed with your job and all that, then you are set for life if you are willing to live a more modest lifestyle.

Borg had the dream life to an outsider

Reality was that he was self harming in a darkened room and retired at 26 after winning 11 grand slams because he couldn’t face the thought of losing another tennis match

Borg blew it all as he wasn’t of sound mind

If it can happen to him, it can happen to Simmons

Obviously the treatment options are more advanced nowadays than during the Bjorn Borg's era and tennis is specific in terms of performance anxiety as well since it is an individual sport.

When did fox becomes a defensive specialist? The entire Sacramento team doesn’t play defense outside of maybe Harrison barnes and even he’s gotten a little bit lazier

He's always been a good defender. The notion that he doesn't play defense is just an basketball twitter thing. Just like when people thought Ben Simmons was a bad defender at LSU. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't. De'Aaron Fox has 382 steals and 125 blocks in 276 career games. He's a defensive stud.

Bruce Bowen was a very bad defender than
And Rodman and Dumars too

And Dalembert a good one :)

PG defense is only as good as the other teammates...in particular your center. I like Holmes but yeah dude is not a great defender.

"Mental illness can happen to anyone, even Ben Simmons. He could be in a dark place where he's not interested in playing basketball any more.....

... and he's still worth more than that no-defense playing De'Aaron Fox."

With the right pieces a Murray and Vassell from the Spurs and Grant from the Pistons coming to the Sixers deal would be very possible. Simmons and a low end rotation guy from a deep Sixers bench to the Spurs, a couple of younger pieces (White from SA being the key salary) to the Pistons from both the Sixers and Spurs. More options open in December and January with players on each team becoming trade eligible. At this point with 15 guaranteed deals on the Sixers pieces will have to go out in any trade that isn't a Simmons one for one deal or else you end up just cutting guys.

Also, don't we essentially have a separate thread for all of the pro and con pop psychology experts to go and opine on their learned opinions and diagnoses elsewhere on the Board rather than mucking up this thread?

If we can get anything of significance beyond Murray, I'd do it right now. We don't need Murray to be the scorer, he needs to just be able to score, willing to shoot when he is open, and play elite wing defense. If we could get Vassell too, that's an instant deal for me.

he's just scared to death of facing the music here. and knows he has an out, albeit a totally spineless and flimsy one, in blaming Embiid and Doc for throwing him under the bus. So that's his card and he's playing it until he gets moved. Good riddance.

But yeah once he arrives at that new place there's no reason to think he can't go back to being a 15/7/7 , DPOTY runner up type guy. Which again, isn't anywhere near the expectations we had for him here. But he can still contribute and play if he really wants to. If that new team is expecting him to actually improve upon that though I wouldn't get my hopes up. He is what he is, as he himself said.

How would you guys rank the potential Simmons trade targets? Today I’d say:

Edwards
Ingram
Lillard
Fox
Murray

I’m personally not including Brown or Beal because I don’t think they’re in the realm of possibility.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
