Riddle me this Batman. Cole was arguably the worse player in summer league for us and is now our best player.

That was a nice steal by Bamba, sucks he didn't hit that 3. Good no call by Trae's antics.

True... with what wcj is showing so far.. plus the contribution of Franz... BUT would that have been enough to convince Zach to stay/resign? Cuz if they didnt do those trades no way would we see Ball,DDR,caruso and etc there.

As i said, they are throwing their dice for a chance to win it all. While we wanted a rebuild.

Zach didn't resign. He is a free agent this summer. WIthout the trade, they're a better team anyway (with Lonzo and DeRozan). Like I said, Vuc has been worse than WCJ (and Bamba) so far and they've been killing it. They would be much better with WCJ and Franz today. Especially with Franz filling in for the injured Patrick Williams.

They made those moves to convince Zach to resign because he was making it known he wants to win. Without the trafe would Ball and DDR sign with the Bulls? you think zach, pat, wcj anf the 8th pick would convince them of that? Wherein Vuc is a 2 time all star and an offensive threat everywhere... A Zach/Vuc pairing coonvinces a lot of "stars" to sign.

Hmm, looks like Cole maybe goes to the 2 for the first few possessions after a stoppage in play.

EDIT: Guess not. Looks more random.

Cole played almost off the ball at SG in the summer league and was a disaster. He needs the ball. It is what it is.

That's possible and we'll never know the answer to that.

Defense could be better but I do like how hard we're playing tonight. Just don't want any letdown in the 2nd half.

Cole is in rhythm... likely due to not having to share PG duties with someone else other than when he's resting. Rhythm is a big thing for players. This whole 'you get this possession'/'I'll take the next possession' crap rarely works for development.

Nope, without Vucevic I think there is strong case that DeMar doesn't even go there and they'd be considered contenders now. Vucevic is a All-Star caliber player and carried his team to the playoffs for multiple years. Even though he's not playing well now (because he's in a completely different role and offense) his skill set and vet presence make them that much better. Wendell has been playing great but he's no Vucevic.

Your first sentence is the only valid defense of the trade and it's a big 'what-if?'

What Convinces a man nearing the end of his prime to join a team with only 1 star quality player and a bunch of young 20 something year olds still developing? People even here not to long ago thought Wendell was trash and not worth resigning. Why would DeMar put himself in such a situation without any known commodities?

No one has been suggesting this for what it's worth.

Everyone knows Cole can only be effective with the ball in his hands. Some of us just think he's not going to develop the other areas of his game enough - playmaking specifically - to remain a starting PG on a good team.

He's been very good tonight though.

Team averages 21 assists per game.

Currently, we have 19 at the half.

I know just having fun... It's a development year and he and a few others need to develop their playmaking skills. Happy to see those glimpses of better passing from him at least.

Cole and WCJR have both been good. I thought we had some bad bounces on defense. Pretty good half

Defense is more of my main gripe with Cole. He isn't good enough on offense to be bad at defense.

Cole is the starting PG. Fultz doesn’t get it back automatically. We need an SG
