lol.

Barnes isn’t that great of a screen setter yet.
Barnes is a wing... he doesn't have the build of a screen setter nor should he be relegated to screener on pnr. He should be handler on pnr. Waste of his talent to be a bruising pf.

Birch is such a smart team-first player. Just does a lot of little things well. Like making quick passes so the defence doesn't have time to reset, or re-positioning himself by a few feet on offence to make those pick-and-roll passes easier for the ballhandler. Just great, very subtle high b-ball IQ plays.

Pretty much the same when JV was on the team

This is the best ball movement I've seen from this squad all year. Looking good!

So why does FVV run way PNR's with Precious lol. Barnes is a better screen setter than Precious.

No he’s not? Precious is pretty good at setting screens. I guess its subjective though.

I just posted something on the Barnes thread.
Many rookies don't get rushed into a high usage role for a full long 80 game season. No point having them make too many mistakes early on -- let them focus on the good. It's a long season -- I would be disappointed if we don't feature him heavily for his development in the second half of the season, but not necessarily too upset about it right now. Still would like him a tad more involved but OG/Siakam/FVV have some chemistry at least tonight.

I understand what you're saying, but we've already seen what he can do with a pretty high usage and it was damn impressive. If he looked overwhelmed then I would be very comfortable giving him a diminished role, but he was balling outta control.

It sucks I love seeing Scottie get a bunch of shots/touches as much as anyone. At this stage of his career rather he’d earn all his touches not be force feed over more polished players.

No need to run him into the ground either. Let him grow naturally

Agreed.

The question to ask is this:
1. Is force feeding him early on the best for him and the team? Or is the best for the fans who are looking for something to hang onto right now in what will likely be a mediocre season.

I think most people are having the problem with him not even touching the ball or being involved in the offense at all.

NO one can find a way to make Nurkic and Dame work.

It's absolutely criminal how much they ignore Nurkic. He is very similar to Jokic.

Why are people wanting Barnes to go to bench? To put up stats?

We need as much minutes with the Barnes-OG-Siakam combination because it's clear it's the future, can't write it off after 3 games

CJ and Dame are just basically the west coast version of the Demar era Raptors.

Actually worse because Dame is a top 10 player and they're still trash lol.

Disagree. Barnes to the bench. Sports Illustrated had a story this week saying the same thing. Barnes came off the bench on college, but still got his minutes and finished the game.
