#2 feels too high but I'll take it, at least it's not #21.

listening to a podcast that basically said there was no way the sixers will keep up their offensive numbers. Basically they are on a hot streak and it has less to do with playing great basketball then it does guys hitting contested shots.

We are good and people are starting to admit it.
In fairness to “that job, they often don’t say things that are right because it ends up being boring discussion. Predicting a team wrong can actually get you more to talk about later in the season and explain why you were wrong. It creates content. Also the Bulls have far exceeded most people’s expectations so far. The only way we were going to play this good was if Patrick Williams had a huge second season. DDR is the best pickup we have seen in a long time. If Jerry Krause got this production out of Ron Mercer his life would have been easier. Impact was completely under the radar by pretty much everyone. I surely didn’t expect it, I neither hated nor loved the signing I was just happy to get more talent on a team that was talent deprived for years.

The funny thing is that most national media thought the Ball signing was terrific, while the DDR one was questionable, or just outright an overpay. Now, it looks like DDR is a great value, and Ball might be a bit overpaid.

I can't imagine how you could watch the Bulls this season and think Lonzo is an overpay, but I agree that DeMar looks like a spectacular value.

Because he isn’t averaging a triple double or 25ppg like our other two future all stars

Lonzo has been playing solid defense, shooting great and making some great passes. And he’s not even in his prime yet. We got a deal and he’s gonna get better.

I'm not sure what kind of money you would think is appropriate for him.
There are 12 PG currently who make 10 million or more than Lonzo.... 4 PG that make 20 million or more than him.
Curry
Wall
Westbrook
Dame
Irving
Kemba
Simmons
J. Holiday
D. Russell
J. Murry
Paul
D. Fox
Id take Lonzo right now over about half that list.

Bulls move up to 4 on this week from being 7th last week.
Still not sure why the Nets are ranked ahead of us again.
Brooklyn has had an easier schedule than us and all 5 of their losses they have been by double digits. In fact when the nets loose, they are loosing by an average of 18.6 points a game. Including out only head to head matchup with us, 23 point lose.

The more interesting tidbit from the article...
Even Friedell jumping on the bandwagon? Lol.
Butler has an interesting homecoming on Saturday against DeMar DeRozan and the surging Bulls in Chicago. -- Friedell

Rough week after going 2-3 with a blowout loss vs the Pacers, a bad loss vs Houston, and a schedule loss vs Miami.

Re: ESPN Weekly Power Rankings
I couldn't care less about these rankings but ESPN still putting the Nets above us after beating them twice already including this weekend in their arena is laughable.

They think we're 4th, that's totally defensible. We're behind 3 teams with better records and ahead of one with a better record, and ahead of Milwaukee which is basically the same record and had all their losses when suffering massive injuries.
I think overall, that's a pretty optimistic take on the Bulls.

I mentioned specifically being behind the Nets. Beating them twice, including once at their arena there is no justification for it.

I continue to enjoy looking back at ESPN's Preseason Power Rankings, dated 9/19, in which the Bulls were ranked 20th and projected to finish 11th in the East (and thus out of the play-in). So many experts looking foolish now.

Sure there is, they have a better record than us and have stars with better track records than us and have went 7-3 in their last 10 vs 6-4. We won a toss up game in their arena, but H2H isn't the only relevant metric. If it was you'd have all these impossible transitive property relationships.
I mean I totally get saying the Nets are too high, but I can also see why they're above us. Frankly, I'd put Milwaukee above us right now. I could see us above the Nets too for the reasons you state. I just think it's close enough that I don't care much about it (to the extent I care about power rankings anyway, which is very small). I think this is defensible and overall we're given pretty good benefit of the doubt.

H2H is not the only metric I am using. Our strength of schedule has been much harder as well. They don't have near the number of quality wins as we do. If you want to place a half game better recordwise and 1 game better over the last 10 as a determining factor over a better H2H record and harder strength of schedule, be my guest. I definitely do not.
