Nah, it's part of the basic transition scheme that everyone uses that no one on the perimeter is allowed to hang around for offensive boards, not even for a second. When the shot goes up everyone who's not right by the basket (and often even them) has to get back quickly. NBA teams are so good at attacking in transition that it's far more valuable to prevent that than go for the smaller chance of getting a long offensive rebound.
There are a few exceptions to this but it's definitely the norm and, while KAT is exaggerating this in a kind of embarrassing way, te end result wouldn't be any different.
