Vikings Lead Up
Big test for the defense. Minnesota, unlike KC and Seattle, has a great running back. And great receivers. And playing at home.
We have a 3 game cushion but we have a tough schedule. Four division games plus Rams, Ravens and Browns. Vikings have 5 division games plus Steelers, Niners, Rams.
This will be a tough one.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Pound the hell out the rock, their run D isn’t very good. Dillon 25+ touches in this one.

Re: Vikings Lead Up
With Taylor already called up from the PS, who do they pick up as the third RB?

I'll go the other way. Would be great to see the vintage Rodgers and Company dome offense show up for this one. Take some shot plays with MVS. Harrison Smith is still good but he's clearly lost a step. Can't keep relying on the defense and you're gonna have to prove you can win a track-meet type game eventually.

Re: Vikings Lead Up
I think packers might come out flat this one. Beating AZ, then covid, then KC game with love, then aarod comes back and they shut out SEA. With Rams looming next week, I think they shi t the bed this game. However, offense hasn't performed and could bust out vs Minnesota.

Gary is saying he will try to play this week.
Please keep him out until after the bye week.

Their offense has been flat two weeks in a row now. If they come out flat for the 3rd week on a row we will have a bunch of questions.
If the defense struggles I will give them a pass since they've carried us for a month now.

I'm leaning this way too, unless they think there is no way he can do further damage by playing with a brace/etc. I'm sure they will be cautious with him, we are generally pretty conservative with injuries.

The Mercilus injury sucks, it was nice to have another reliable vet out there. It looked like he was just starting to settle in and make more of an impact too.

Getting Keke back could help the pass rush. Dafney was also out last game and is a sleeper to step up as a receiving TE with Bob out. He's a bit of a freak athletically.

Re: Vikings Lead Up
Any official news on Mercilus, or are we just assuming it's a torn bicep?

GREEN BAY – It was a mixed bag of injury news for the Packers on Monday.
On the good side, Head Coach Matt LaFleur said the knee injury that forced running back Aaron Jones to exit Sunday's game late in the third quarter is not a long-term concern.
"We'll just monitor it on a daily basis and see how fast he can heal up," LaFleur said of Jones, without giving any kind of timeline. "Because he's certainly a guy you want out on the field."
Jones has worked through similar knee sprains in the past and missed just a couple of weeks.
Not so good was the prospect that veteran outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus might be out for the season due to a biceps injury. LaFleur didn't say so specifically, but the tone and content of his comments suggested as much.
Mercilus had one sack in the 17-0 shutout of Seattle and was on the verge of another on the play he went down.
"Yeah, that's a tough one," LaFleur said of Mercilus, who signed with the Packers just a few weeks ago after being released following more than a decade in Houston. "Man, I feel bad for him.
"Just the stability he brings to that room, and this guy's a pro's pro. It's just one of those unfortunate things that happens."
Also at outside linebacker, Rashan Gary left Sunday's game with an elbow injury that didn't look good on TV replays. LaFleur did not provide an update on Gary, as he's still being evaluated. Gary recorded a sack against Seattle before getting hurt and leads the team with 5½ on the year.
Depending on the length of a potential Gary absence combined with Mercilus' injury, the Packers could be thin at edge rusher in the near term. Preston Smith and Jonathan Garvin are the top two healthy ones right now, with Oren Burks another possibility and Tipa Galeai currently on the practice squad.

Have to give credit to Joe Barry and his staff - he's done a great job with this defense so far.

I love that we have MLF as our coach. Just seems like a perfect combo of taskmaster and player's coach.

He's seems to the right temperament for the job. It's leadership 101 but he's really good at taking the blame on his shoulders when things go wrong and deflecting the praise to the players when things go right.MoreTrife wrote:I love that we have MLF as our coach.
