I am actually less of a Clippers fan thanks to Beverley. This Clippers team is much more likeable without his clown antics and Paul George not screwing around

I still remember one of my friends got tickets off stubhub for game 7 clippers vs jazz for 30 dollars. Clippers town... right

While it is a definitely still a majority "Laker town", the Clippers have a lot more fans than indicated in this thread.

I go to several games a year and there are many fans with Clipper gear on who enthusiastically cheer for the team. I would estimate that the number of fans has about doubled in the last 10 years or so. True, they haven't won the championship during that time frame, but they've been one of the most successful franchises in the NBA wins/losses wise during that time period.

There are still certain games when there is a sizable opposing team fanbase, but that is less frequent than it use to be. I remember back in 1991, I was astonished by how many Bulls fans there were at the Forum when the Bulls clinched the championship in game 5- so it isn't just the Clippers that have a lot of opposing team fans.

 Beverley is blatantly trolling. He is too smart to say such a ridiculous thing and actually mean it.

There are genuine, legitimate solid clipper fans, whom I respect a lot. I want to make it clear that I'm not attacking the whole fanbase and definitely not attacking the passionate intelligent clipper fans who are active on this board. But LA is overwhelmingly a Laker city, and will remain like that for the near future.

I agree that this thread is making it seem like the Clippers don't have a fanbase at all. That's simply not true. LA has a big population and the Clippers inthe past 10 years have provided quality basketball and they certainly have their own fanbase. To me, the premise of this thread/Beverley's statement as a whole is flawed. To say that LA is a clipper city or that it's even close to me is ridiculous. But to act like the Clippers don't have a fanbase and are irrelevant is also as ridiculous.

Clippers finally, FINALLLY, have began to utilize their location advantage with more competant ownership. They might not be in the best situation franchsie wise right now, but i have no doubt that their relevance from the last 10 years isn't a fluke and is likely to continue in the long run. I just think it's simply inaccurate to even consider that LA is a "clipper town", or honestly, to even consider that it's even close.

TLDR: Clippers aren't a joke anymore. They are trending upwards and I believe they will sustain their relevance. But that said, LA is still a Laker town, and the Clippers have a long way to go regarding changing that.

You are very accurate in your assessment.

However, they aren't in such a bad situations at the moment. They have two great players under contract. True, Kawhi is injured, but he should return later this season or next season for sure. Other teams might have a brighter future, but their's certainly isn't totally dim.

On a side note, why are people taking Patrick Bevereley seriously? I don't think he even takes himself seriously.

Apologies. I just woke up from a nap. Did I miss a Clipper championship, or, well, any kind of banner worthy accomplishment?

lakers got lebron and won a title, clippers got patrick beverly. That is what it took to tip the scales of LA fans towards the clippers obviously

If the Clippers won a championship or two in the next 5-10 years I think you would find more of a shift towards them.

Until then it's like the Mets and Yankees situation, most NY residents cheer for the Yankees.

Beverley is like that little dude at a bar that instigates fights for other people and then watches on the sideline after he causes the mayhem.

Dude is in Minnesota getting Lakers fans to crap on the Clippers franchise while Clippers fans have to just quietly rage at Beverley for dragging them into it. This serves no other purpose except for Clippers fans to be dragged just for supporting their team. They took enough abuse last year in the bubble. No need for Beverley to wave the red cape in front of the bull.

Meh, it's just the same boorish sentiments expressed by the usual members of the peanut gallery. Plus they're responding to obvious trollbait from someone who's not even on the team anymore. Pretty meaningless stuff.

I was probably too extreme with my initial statement. They aren't in "a bad situation". They are certainly in a better situation than more half the league. I was saying it compared to the situation they were in two years ago. Clippers will be fine. Management is everything, and they are certainly competent in that regard. Agreed regarding Beverley, but this is the General Board afterall and people tend to always take things too seriously here haha

Was this TV game or why Lebron is wearing a wig?

Indeed, as LeBron's hairstylist, I can confirm the intricacies that go into a game with the amount of nourishment and nutrition and I'm happy you noticed. In this particular game, we tried to give him more volume by using our new product based on coconut cream extract which makes the hair really pop out and does indeed almost make it seem as if the hair particles are brand-new, or a wig as you said.

Laughed so hard at this
