Exactly right.

Didn’t you know? DLo has ice in his veins. So he shoots every shot in the final seconds for the rest of his career. I know stats of his history are on his side…but he also shot like 26% yesterday.

Seriously finch needs to do something about the chucking. We waste so many possessions just lazily shooting 3s knowing they’re not going in. I bet we leave the 10+ a game off the board with this offense.

There needs to be accountability. If ant starts 0-2 from 3, you’re barred from shooting from 3 unless forced to or wide open. Any iso 3 with 14 left on shot clock= automatic bench

I would rather have:

Towns
Markkanen
Butler
LaVine
Rubio

Maybe don’t let your owner make basketball personnel decisions. LaVine’s work ethic wouldn’t have drove Butler out of town.

To be fair, Wiggins alone would got us, Butler.
It wasn't such an obvious decision at the time.

The thing to take away from the Suns success is that it isn’t always a smart plan to just pitch all the vets and rebuild around 19-21 year olds. The Suns were just as young as us, and they went and made a commitment to Chris Paul, and to a lesser extent, Jae Crowder, and it really helped their wins and their development.

I like that we got Beverley, but it’s not enough. I am not in favor of trading KAT for youth and picks. I would prefer using other pieces to put a star vet on the team, who’s age and giant contract reduce his trade value. To me, trading DLo for an older player should be something to look into.

Also to be fair, and use hindsight, Wolves by trading for Butler in 2017 signaled all-in on win-now. Imagine them trading Wiggins/Dunn for Butler, while keeping #7. They would still hold Rubio (expiring), cap flexibility), #7 and all future own 1sts.

2017 offseason George, Paul and Irving got traded. In hindsight, for trade packages Wolves could have easily beat.

Towns
George
Butler
LaVine
Rose

Towns
Dieng
Butler
LaVine
Paul

Towns
Dieng
Butler
LaVine
Irving

Could a player connected like Butler have recruited any of those three? I think so.

The Wolves first mistake was to trade Rubio away for later sign Jeff Teague, that was the first (and huge) mistake.
After that was a bunch of bad signings after bad signings on really bad contracts.

That's more wishful thinking on your part, though.
Don't think any of these rosters would have ever been realistic just from a pure salary cap point of view considering that they would've had to go deep into the luxury tax to make these teams happen...

Towns $32
George $39
Butler $36
LaVine $19
Rose $13

Dieng $4

With this loss we are now behind last year's winning %. We're on pace to go 26-56. Last year we were 23-49 in the 72 games played.

I have to think they'll catch a couple good games at some point of the season and end up with 30-34 wins which might even be good enough to enter the Play-In tournament given how dreadful the West is (SAC, OKC, SAS, NOP, HOU).

That said, even if this is happening --> due to lack of overall competitiveness of the West bottom feeders ---> nobody should get their hopes up that this team is ever going to make some noise around the league.

Where are you getting your salaries? 17/18 season Butler was paid 19.3, LaVine wasn’t paid yet, Towns was still on rookie deal.

I assumed your goal was to not only acquire all these players but also to keep them around mid-term. Thus, I took this years salaries. Doubt anyone of them would've taken a large discount to remain on the team. Too many players with big egos involved. Especially George/Irving/Butler/Towns.

Rose is the only one I could've seen signing for a larger discount to play on a competitve team. Then again, letting him go to I believe Detroit was another move that I never understood (same with Rubio).

Who cares. You deal with it then. So much to what if. How successful they are (how much winning). How the team is gelling. How willing owner to spend.

A good problem to have if winning and winning big.

One of the things I like about last night game was the 8 man rotation. Prince, JO and JMac are out of lineup for now. Leaving us with just one offensive liability in Vando. DLo should be first sub out so he can get his run with Beas, Jaden and Naz on the 2nd unit.

Towns better realize this loss was on Russell and do something to reign his buddy in. If he is unable or unwilling to do that, then he is probably better off elsewhere and get us some players with some guts in return...
