Did you watch the game? The Warriors team defense was outstanding but KD missed shots he usually makes, it happens. Green wasn’t locking or shutting down KD in this game

I can't confirm or deny OP's post, but I can with 100% certainty state that Kyrie did NOTHING to stop Curry tonight as he went off. Why aren't we talking more about this?

The eye test showed me he had to work for it when PJ was guarding him.

It means that PJ did a good job and KD was just in the zone...that's basketball. We've seen CP3 give KD fits at moments in games, does that mean KD can't shoot over CP3? lol

He's shooting 53.8% through 13 games vs 44.7 last year and 38.9% the year before. He certainly was looking like he was declining to bad places...and I think his mobility and jump gave us all reason to pause about his athletic ability declining below where it needed to be.

He is motivated this year, and healthy with a full preseason preparation. GSW basically tanked in 2019-20 after Curry went down, and last season he had Covid before the season, and I defy anyone to divine remotely how that affects an individual NBA player. I for one predicted to some derision on the GSW board that he wasn’t finished.

I agree no one can lock down KD though, he can at worst be limited somewhat by great defense, or have a bad night.

One of the best jobs I've seen on KD, but the guy I'd really like to see on KD is Pacers Artest.

A lot of warriors fans were saying this tho. Imagine you go to the finals five years a row, competing at the highest level while also pushing yourself every game in the regular season and even playing some international ball in the summers. Then the next two years you are playing with lots of rookies and g league players for much lower stakes. Are you going to kill yourself every game and risk injury to have at best a treadmill year? Or would you allow yourself to physically and more importantly mentally rest and rejuvenate knowing that once the gang is back together you will probably have a few more runs at the title? It’s just common sense but people still insisted he was washed up.
