maybe add some picks but this might be the trade! can take out Moody if nessacary

remember the Cs were very high on Wiseman in the 2020 draft

I'm curious on Jaylen Browns fit with us. He's an amazing young talent. I also really like Wiggins on this roster. Taller and longer than Brown and more versatility defensively? or am I wrong. Wiggins is a low maintenance 3rd guy on our team - is Brown willing to be #3?
I can’t imagine any scenario that the celts would trade Brown in any deal involving Wiggins so I don’t think it really matters.

Not that I necessarily want this but I could see Boston liking this. Could also see Boston rolling with horford-KAT and us keeping Wigs.

How about this for a start:

Warriors get: KAT
Twolves get: Ben Simmons (Dlo HS teammate)
76ers get: Wiggins

Why for Wolves? Ben Simmons IMO works well with DLo and Edwards taking the scoring leads while he can distribute and play defense. Let’s Edwards shine more on offense.

Why for 76ers?
The deal needs to be sweetened. But 76ers look good without Ben so adding a career 19ppg wing is helpful. But I still think they will need a FRP from Warriors.

Why for Warriors?
I actually love the current Warrior flow. This is a trade option if the Warriors needed to make a trade.

You're wise not to post this anywhere other than the GSW threads :noway:

indeed!

It's obviously not the whole trade, but those are the main components.

The main hiccup of this trade, and variations of it, is Pacers don't need Wiseman. Also, Kuminga is nice, but Pacers would rather have win-now talent than long term projects

The key to getting this to work is to find a 3rd team as the landing spot for Wiseman, and probably Kuminga as well

The third team would then ideally send a F who pairs well with Sabonis to the Pacers

Seems like the Pacers had a tough spell adjusting their rotations, but that it’s coming together. From your view point, who are the odd men out?

It's hard to say for certain, what with the constant injuries that they're dealing with

But the safe answer is Lamb. Goga has seen decreased playing time as well

Personally though, I think one of Brogdon or LeVert might need to go soon

This is a live now pay later trade because we would be giving up Kuminga's potential for some insurance at center in this year's playoffs. JaVale's getting old. He will turn into a pumpkin some year soon.

JaVale knows how to play with Steph/Dray/Klay/Ig but if Kerr won't play him there is no point in having him.
I thought JaVale was clearly better than Zaza but Kerr did not agree with me.

Kerr has done a good job. Kerr restricting Steph's minutes or whatever greivences some of you have does not outweigh the success that Kerr has had as a coach.

With JaVale on board the search for an upgrade at center can relax and Wiggins and Wiseman can stop worrying about being traded and Looney can stop worrying about becoming a backup.

Not that I don't want Towns.

I really liked JaVale but it isn't 2017 anymore. JaVale's stats don't shown signs of aging except that his blocks are down. The sample size for this year is to small. His blocks were fine last year.

Lol what?

Come on Javale McGee for Kuminga?

You'd be lucky to get a 2nd for him, not the 7th overall pick from the recent draft.

I decided to just pass on replying to this one....Kuminga for Javale...ouch.

Pacers seem like a solid trade option for the Warriors....I have a sneaking suspicion that Kuminga is about to become untradeable...

I thought we had all agreed that one more championship was worth 8 years of 50 wins / 4th best team in the NBA.
We don't have a hole in our roster accept possibly at center or at 2nd option on offense. We are hoping Klay can handle 2nd option on offensè making Poole 3rd option. Poole is a decent 3rd option.

Rookies are not playable in the playoffs,
OK, Kuminga is starting to look like he might be playable in the playoffs but that has been solidifying after I wrote the post. I still think if we don't care about the future and Just want to win tge Champioship this year JaVale is probably better than Kuminga. But Kuminga is starting to make that questionable. And when I think JaVale I am thinking 2017 JaVale. I don't actullay know what current JaValle is although his per minute stats suggest that father tine may not have destroyed him yet.

Who will block shots for the Warriors. Does Draymond have to handle all the rim protection by hinself? Does Looney have to stay healthy?

There are worse things to be than the early to mid 1980s Bucks. I am OK with no more championships. Let Wiggins, Kuminga, Wiseman, Moody and Poole with a little help from aging Steph, Klay and Dray carry us to 55 wins and a 2nd round playoff exit for the next 5 years.

I agree that Kuminga is too high of a price for JaVale.
But I think JaVale is worth more to the Warriors than to any other team in the league unless Wiseman is ready to be a good defensive center now. I have hopes Wiseman in the future but I kind of doubt Weather Wiseman will be playable in the NBA playoffs this year.

We should have signed JaVale las sumer. JaVale and Draymond were good together defensively. JaVale know the role. JaVale was a shot blocker. JaVale could make guards doubt their drives into the paint.

The Suns have their own dreams of winning the 2022 Championship. The Suns don't necessarily need JaValle all that much but the Warriors may be the last team that the Suns would want to trade JaVale to.

The problem is not that Kuminga, Wiseman or Moody are untouchable.

The problem is you clearly have no idea the correct valuation of Mcgee or GSW needs.

1. Mcgee is not worth a 1st round pick. It’s laughable to think Kuminga (and GSW needing to add a 1st on top) is the price. Moody would be an over pay. You do remember GSW had the ability to just sign him if they wanted right? For reference, Oubre coming off a career year was traded for a top 20 protected 1st that converted to a 2nd days after Klay went down. That was an actual need and a far better player at the time and still got a fraction of the value you are proposing.

2. Mcgee never averaged more than 10mpg during his last tenure as a back up to Zaza or looney. He is currently a 3rd string C, and was a 3rd string C every year since he left GSW. Now he’s a make-or-break championship talent? Makes zero sense. It’s not 2017 and even then he wasn’t the reason they won.

3. There’s no “search” for an upgrade at C. That’s just something you made up. Looney and Bjelica are playing great so far. There’s not a single credible source saying GSW is linked to a C. Also the pressure to trade Wiseman would exponentially increase if they added another C without moving one. 4 Cs on a team that loves to play small ball? How do you logic that. Also, Looney has never minded coming off the bench so why would he start now?

4. The Warriors are the top ranked defense in the league. Seem to be doing OK without McGee jumping out of his shoes any time someone pump fakes in the middle the 9 minutes he’d spend on the floor.

Again, I’m not against moving the young pieces or even bringing McGee back but your trade would get Myers fired. If for some reason they did want to move for Mcgee, it would be a late draft pick and salary filler. Tops.

I don't want to part with Kuminga. I just want JaVale.
I want an option of playing a shot bloking center.
I think Wiseman will eventually be the shot blocking center I want but I fear that playing Wiseman 20 minutes a a game this year might stop us from winning a championship this year. We can't afford a weak link.

With Looney I don't trust him to stay healthy. How much can we play Draymond at center.

There is no search for a center because we are rolling the dice on Looney being healthy and Wiseman being playable.

I am not yel confident that we can win a championship with Bjelica as are center even if Klay comes back and plays like 2016 Klay. If Klay comes back as 90% of 2016 Klay we are very much in the mix to win the championship but our center position might lose us that championship.

JaVale does not need to be great. He just needs to be 90% of what he was in 2017. But then there is the issue oof Kerr not playing JaVale when JaVale was clearly better than Zaza.

Overall I am happy with Kerr. Considerring our injuries I think Kerr has done a great job.Look at this year. Is this team really as good as they have played. It is time for Kerr to get credit like he got in 2015.

Any team that wants JaVale can just wait until he's cut and sign him to a minimum, rest-of-year contract.

And who would you cut to fit in JaVale? He can’t be a two way, so Downton & Chiozza won’t do it.

Then who? Moody Wiseman Kuminga?

If GSW is desperate for a mediocre center who can block shots Bismack Biyombo is available.

For me it's either get a mediocre center who can block shots or do nothing. What make JaVale the best shot blocking Medicre center for the Warriors is his famiarity with playing with sone of our guys and familiarity with our system. Also my eyes and per minute stats say JaVale may be a bit better than medicre if you ignore him not playing a lot of minutes.

Sure try to swindle an all star out of some team but is that likely to happen? If we can steal Towns because of Ben Simmons then great.

If we have a weakness, I think it is rim protection unless Wiseman can change that.

If Klay returns at 90% we have our second option and Wiggins and Poole are good 3rd and 4th options. I am not to worried about offense.

Every trade for a big name involves Wiggins for salary. I value Wiggins. Wiggins fits. If Wiseman can play well this team is complete and probably should not make any trades.

Warriors are playing crisp ball, above their talent level. Thank you Steve Kerr and Draymond. And thank Curry for warping defenses.
Is a shot blocker too much to ask for? Actually we have some kid in Santa Cruz who can block shots but maybe that is all he can do and he is not on the Warriors Roster.

I sort of like signing Bismark Biyombo but who do we cut? If after a month of playing Wiseman still looks confused on defense signing Biyombo will sound even better to me.

Return to Golden State Warriors
