Nah. Tommy hired his coach, it makes sense to make the timelines match with Wes Jr.

Obviously, we wish we had gotten an outside GM but Sheppard probably gets a B grade from me for his work over the past 12 months.

Note that his name is spelled Sheppard. No "h" in it.

The Wizards have been a watchword for mediocrity since well before the name change, let's hope what we have now isn't fool's gold, but it's fun to watch so far.

:x This thread is less than a year old and painful to read now, but this take has aged-well, Fools gold it is

I’m not believing a thing this man says any longer.

The trades are good. The drafts suck. Wizards would be in a good place if a couple picks were actual starters.

Maybe they'll get there...?

My new resolution to stop being so blasted negative.

So, yeah... maybe Deni takes a big jump this year. Maybe Corey does too. Maybe Johnny Davis turns out to be better than anyone taken below him in R1 -- turns out to really really good in fact. Maybe Rui turns into what every fan wants him to be.

I'm not budging from this. It's the new positive moi.

Give Todd time. Believe in Carey. Barton's got a lot left. Gafford is still growing as a player. KP has a shot to realize his potential, why not? Beal can return to being the very good player he was in the past. We know that both Delon Wright & Monte Morris are very high quality NBA players. Kuz can find a next upswing. Maybe Taj can get a little jolt of youthfulness & give us a good season. Then Yannick Nzosa comes over next year & is the stud people were saying he might be a year ago. Meanwhile, Gill gets more meaningful minutes & remains a solid contributor.
