Who'll rule the American League

Down to the last few games and the top of the East is very tight. Right now the Indians, Yankees and Angels are all red hot, while the Red Sox appear to be having a bit of a late swoon. How do you think they'll stack up at the end of the 162 game season?

Right now

Angels 90-62
Tribe 90-62
Red Sox 90-63 .5
Yankees 88-64 2.5

Sox should still win the AL when Manny and Youk get back. Starting Hinske and Ellsbury instead of Manny and Youk hurts A LOT. Starting pitching has been good lately, it's just that hitting has sucked and Tito is doing a **** job managing the 'pen.

agreed, the Angles have been the most consistant AL team this year, they have the best bullpen of any playoff team, and have 3 great starters in Lacky, Escobar, and Weaver. Saunders ain't bad either. The offense is good enough, Vlad is the man

I think any fan could see Ellsbury and Hinske are just not as good as Ramirez and Youk. But the pen has not been as good as it was earlier in the year.

While the team might give up a 14.5 lead, I still like them come playoff time. I think the pitching shows up.

Ellsbury is hitting .372 with 3 HRs and 14 RBIs in 25 games, obviously he's the reason the Sox are slumping. :wink:

Oh I know Ellsbury has played great for the Sox. I'm just saying Manny Ramirez he is not. Although Ellsbury has just been amazing at Fenway. Obviously your team will suffer when you don't have your cleanup hitter.

Cleveland now has the best record with the Angels and Sox a mere .5 games behind and the Yanks 2 games back.

i like the Yanks chances, of course the biggest hurdle are those pesky angels whose .200 hitters become all stars against them, but with the law of averages, its about time we get a break and beat them :pray:

I would be shocked to see the Indians finish the season going 2-4, The Red Sox 0-5 (I'll just assume you meant for them to lose 69 and not 79) and for the angels to go 1-4. None of these teams seem ready to just mail in the rest of the season.
