Scottie is going to have a rough game today with Gobert waiting for him down low. Hopefully he comes out like he did vs Orlando/Boston, with the mid-range game.

Not sure if anyone noticed this sequence in the Portland game, but Lillard was talking trash to Scottie for a bit, and the two were really going at each other. On one possession, Raptors were in transition and Scottie was just booking it down the floor while guarded by Lillard. Nobody passed to him, but he was 100% trying to put Lillard on a poster there.

I like his competitive nature.

I caught that. Players rarely try and run that fast and I was disappointed they didn't try and get him the ball.

Hope so. Although it’s also likely the hierarchy just makes Fred take more shots

Barnes doesn't realize he's special yet. Once he realizes that he can get to his spots whenever he wants in the mid-range, it's going to open up the rest of his game for him. He's going to be a beast from 17-feet and in once he builds that confidence.

Open threes will always be there for him, I'm not really concerned about those. He just needs to really build that mid-range game

that McCollum block did something to his psyche. Dude was afraid to get blocked and did not go to the rim tonight

Looks noticeably less aggressive and I think the thumb is bothering him in terms of gripping and going for dunks. Maybe CJ isn’t strong enough to block that shot if he grips tighter

Bleacher Reports "Way-too-Soon 2021 redraft"

Original pick: No. 4

The Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn't be happy about having to re-draft, but they'd still come out winners and tougher by adding Scottie Barnes.

Every scout praised Barnes' defense, passing and intangibles before the draft, but few self-creation and shooting flashes hinted at a limited NBA scorer. Instead, he's leading all rookies with 16.3 points per game while also providing the defensive pressure, IQ plays and vocal energy that fueled his identity at Florida State.

We're looking at Barnes' floor, which shows an interchangeable forward who can initiate fast breaks, play-make at 6'7", use his 7'3" wingspan for finishing, hit shots around the key and pick up opposing guards full court. What will he look like if he adds more shooting range and shot-making versatility?

Even though he was the No. 4 pick originally, Barnes appears to offer more upside than initially thought. Although he can improve upon certain offensive skills, he's still putting up major numbers right away.

The Cavaliers would use Barnes in the same role that they have Evan Mobley thriving in right now.

Heres the link for those wanting to see the rest. Also gawwwd damn on Jalen Suggs re-draft position. Ya'll know we'd be on suicide watch over here.

As long as you have a shoot first pg who looks for his 20 shots a game, we will have this dysfunctional offense ....

Barnes has crashed hard offensively lately, zero confidence, shot attempts and aggressiveness going the wrong way

more concerning is his defensive crash. Hes a complete liability out there the past few games.

Scoring points are a thing in todays NBA. I'm sure Masai and Nurse love Freddie as well. Do those guys suck?

you can put up 20 its fine, but its not fine requiring the ball for 18 seconds each possession as well... look at steph this game. dude barely had the ball. took what the defense gave him

Scottie struggled but it is encouraging to see him consistently get 4-5 assists every game. The playmaking is real. We just need the coaching staff to see it and let Scottie playmake from the post and even from the perimeter. I just hope his finishing touch comes back because he has struggled with finishing at the rim for a while now. If he doesn't have great touch, its going to severely limit his upside

Dude looks gassed and isn't in effective spots because Siakam is in those spots now. He's gotta find other ways to contribute, hitting those 3's was nice to see.
