The tail end of our road trip comes with good news that we're getting much needed reinforcements. It's a rejuvenating boost that will balance the line-ups and hopefully have us revved up and energized for the whole game. Let's push through till the end for good result. Best two-way play, together.

Interesting. I thought that was the case with Jakob:

I've noticed that our players are all more diligent in wearing their masks, and properly, on the bench. Good. Let's keep it up.

We're never fresh and focused when we go west-east to cold temperatures. It's like we have to thaw out or something. We've started out really cold. Need to punch back versus a team on the second of a back-to-back.

Their active hands are getting in the lanes of our passes and their active feet are staying with our drives and their help D is resulting in blocks of our Js from behind. Nightmare.

I wonder if we thought we could coast to start versus a team on the back end of a back-to-back?

1ST Q: SPURS 20

WOLVES 34

We finished on a 8-2 run to close the Q - our bench is putting in the work. Loving the man D and the help D and the steals for transition points.

Derrick at the end of Qs calling a play which resulted in... Lonnie J because he can't beat a man with his handles and is forced to stay outside. Miss. And we foul on the other end so it was a 4-point swing which could have cut the lead to 10 or 9 but instead is 14. Still, better than 20.

We MUST get more physical, and pick up our pace as well we be FAR more diligent in contesting the arc.

A Bryn drive and behind the back pass which luckily finds DJ. I've seen it all now. He thinks he's **** Manu when he puts on a Spurs jersey. Christ.

Keldon picked up his dribble in trouble but nice patience and great bounce pass to Tre cutting for a layup.

Love Derrick's timing on the help D when Jakob guards the post-up.

Lonnie face-up shot 'creating' is a **** disaster. DISASTER. He's a black hole on O if he isn't in transition or taking spot up shots. FFS. Just ... sad to say not very creative or impactful.

Lonnie with ball in his hands, no one else touches it... miss... and they score on a last second drive for another 4-point swing... brilliant. Just brilliant.

2ND Q: SPURS 53

WOLVES 66

It was JUST a 4-point game. And then the Lonnie Walker IV one bad drive attempt after another for **** wasted time and D adjusting and Lonnie taking shots and misses. Christ. Between him and Bryn trying over and over to do things they are not doing well - driving (at least in Bryn's case he get by his man off his dribble), and shot creation attempts, it's KILLING us.

Devin is 5-6, leads the bench in scoring. Ghosted.

Tre has looked nice and smart and smooth. Great court vision for cross court passes and fine finishing at the rim. Wonderful bait for their O foul. Smart, effective.

Doug has looked far more assertive in drives and he's so smart running out to the wings as soon as we get the ball for some transition 3s.

Speaking of which, they've already taken 27 which is about what we average in a game and are scorching us with 13 made 3s, more than tripling our 4-15 output.

In addition, we're getting almost no production from our bigs with Drew (1-3), Thad (0-1), and Jakob (1-2) barely getting attempts. True we've been getting blocked a lot (6), but we also can implement some more movement and cuts to get behind them. This has been more successful as the game's progressed.

We took our foot off the pedal with middling not smart O and lax D and paid the price for it. Just like that, their 9-0 run led to a double-digit lead again.

But we did well to cut into their lead, dug ourselves out. To get on top, we have to make a far more concerted, physical push, faster pace, better ball protection (being aware of their active long arms), better movement, and contesting 3s. Getting them more into fouls trouble is key, too. FAR. MORE. PRECISION. AND. ENERGY. Let's see how we respond.

We pass up soo many wide open shots because of indecision only to take a contested flailing shot 1 vs 3 in the same possession.

Really HATE that foul when O team pushes in transition and it stops the advantage.

We need more from DJ on O. He looked all puffy in the shoot around and I just thought he looked off physically. Quiet game on O... so far...
