Just imagining how the conversation would go...

"Hey John, if you give up that 91 million guaranteed contract we'll be happy to pay you the minimum to backup Kyle"

"Nah"

It is not hard to find a fit, if the definition of fit is: backup point guard. Most of the teams in the league would happily make that move.

Considering how Kemba Walker as looked (i.e. like a $8 million player the Knicks owe him, not the huge bargain star player they hoped), he might have at least one team in the NBA that would be willing to give him a look at the starting PG spot.

For sure for sure. I'm just scoffing at the journalist calling Miami's bench some sort of solution to a problem, as if any bench wouldn't happily take a chance on John Wall. He was a starter in Houston last year and I don't doubt he'd win a starting position on at least a handful of teams.

Kemba Walker agreed to shave $20 million off of the 2 year $74 million contract he had with the Celtics to do a buyout so it is possible that Wall will agree to some savings. Walker apparently had a 'wink wink' agreement with the Knicks (since we are talking tampering...in this case an all 3 party mutually agreed upon form of tampering) to sign with them for a 2 year $18m deal once bought out (so he actually just gave up a couple million). So what would be the most a team out there can give him right now? That would probably be around the range of what he'd be willing to give up to get a buyout. Any team still have cap space? Any team still have their MLE or similar?
