Would love it. But highly doubt he gives up all that money to play off the bench behind Lowry for the minimum.
stranger things have had happening. if this happens the bench is going to be much deeper and this team will just go beyond the second round.

my excitement for this team would go through the roof

He would be giving up like over 60+ million dollars. Unless we plan to sign Wall to the Vet Min until 2060

I would love wall and there’s been a lot of speculation for years now. I just doubt he accepts a buyout. That’s generational money he’s giving up lol. I do believe we can offer more than the minimum but correct me if I’m wrong

No way Wall takes a buyout. Not only does he have $44.3 owed to him this year, he has a $47.4 player option next season lol

7th defense I think but your point still stands. We let our foot off the gas a few games defensively for whatever reason

Okay weird, may be I didnt have it filters right.

Covington is one of those weird guys that has no impact at all on winning anywhere he goes yet Heat fans clamor for him every few years, I dont get it.

Have there been any recent updates on how Dipo is progressing? I’ve been looking around and haven’t seen anything as of recent. Maybe that’s my answer…

I don't see it for Wall, whether he takes a buyout or not (he won't). He's not a Heat type player.

I can see Dragic taking a buyout if he's offered it, and returning to the Heat happily. And I'd be okay with that, mostly bc he'd be more than serviceable in that role and also Jimmy would like it.

And I say all this as someone who thinks Dragic was vaaaastly overrated by Heat fans over his entire tenure here except for bubble run. But I like him as a buyout better than Wall, who doesn't fit imo.

people love the big names, regardless of current status.

Wall can't shoot. At this stage he can't defend either.

What exactly do you him doing here? take the ball out of Jimmy's and Tylers' hands? to do what, inefficiently chuck?

evolve as a passer just in case lowry and jimmy go down. i mean its nice to have options and stuff.... maybe he can revive his career here since dipo is doing just exactly that

Knowing who John Wall’s agent is, its highly unlikely he takes a buyout..they’re perfectly fine cashing checks.
That said if there is any real interest in Wall, I’m going to trust the FO and talent evaluators know more than us. You cant really talk about his defense and then say you’re ok with bringing back Dragic, as horrific as those Dragic-Herro-Robinson lineups were.

Pat has been long interested in Wall, but the price/time has never been right. There’s been plenty of smoke throughout the years.

There was also vague interest in Boogie, but when we had the chance we said no thanks. So, in Pat we trust.

Is there a reason that Bams assist numbers are quite down? Is it because of Lowry? He is a better playmaker than Dragic and gets more assists than him

Bam’s not handling the ball as much in the half-court and the Duncan hand-off isn’t being utilised anywhere as much as it did last year.

Bam’s likely trading assists for FGA, as a trade-off for playing with Lowry.

The Bam high post entry pass and let him playmake was a staple of our offence last season. This season we're doing that a whole lot less. Hence why his assists are down.

I hope this opens the eyes of the Tyler doesn't want to/need to start crowd though. We can talk about "team" all we want but contracts and accolades come with certain expectations. At some point a pat on the back and atta boy ain't gonna be enough.

Why are fans eager to create drama out of this Tyler situation?

I would love if Tyler made an all-star game. Let's not go grasping at straws to try to invent drama though. Last year Bam averaged more total offensive output (scoring + assists) than Tyler currently AND was an All-NBA defender and didn't make the All-Star game. Then consider other guys who missed the cut like Trae Young (25 & 9), Middleton (20 & 5 plus D), Devin Booker (24 & 4), Deaaron Fox (24 & 9), Demar Derozan, Brandon Ingram, and the list goes on.

One step at a time. Tyler is on a great trajectory and I promise no one in the Heat organization currently sees Tyler as a career 6th man.

It's not about drama. It's about being realistic about what your status is as a player and what opportunities then become available.

People need to stop acting like basketball stops on the court. That's how some fans get shocked in the off-season by obvious news.

Play this out for me so I can understand. What is the forthcoming doom that awaits as a result of Tyler having the following role this season:

1) Coming off the bench to allow him to stagger minutes with our other ballhandlers/scorers and have the ball in his hands more
2) Be top 3 on the team in minutes played
3) Be a constant part of the closing lineup
4) Lead the team in field goal attempts

What is likely to happen with the guy that the Heat clearly hold in high regard and are giving every opportunity to be a core piece of a winning squad? What is the forthcoming shock that will come while Tyler is under his rookie contract through 2023 and then due to be a restricted free agent where the Heat can match any offer for him (even though it won't come to that as the Heat will obviously extend Tyler in advance of him hitting restricted free agency)? What is the injustice occurring currently?

Again, this is the formula that makes sense for this season. NO ONE is relegating the guy to being a career 6th man. It's a luxury of a well-constructed roster right now.

According to his doctor he would be playing by November. Haven’t heard from that guy in a while.

I don't know why outlets keep bringing up a buyout. Ain't nobody going to leave 90 mil over 2 years on the table.

Wall isn't going to leave $90 mil on the table, and the Rockets aren't going to pay him anything close to $90 mil for coming to Miami to win a championship.
