Steph & Dray have been probably the best duo since Jordan Pipp when you include logetivity, but it is an interesting concept what Kerr's doing with their rotations. They always play together and everyone knows their chemistry is essentially maxed out. But playing Nemena whose a big surprise playmaker with Steph, and moving Dray with Poole whose a bit more of a chucker than a playmaker, allows to have the team more balanced throughout the 48 minutes. Add Klay to play with Dray and JP when Steph is off the floor, and then you have shooting & playmaking all at once.

If you are an even half smart basketball player, you will flourish playing with Curry.

I like Bjelica a lot and there is certainly a place for this Curry and Bjelica combo. But there is a nagging worry that relying on it too much is dangerous in a playoffs environment when weaknesses will be attacked mercilessly. I'm not entirely sold yet on the pairing's resiliency and robustness under pressure.

As much as I harped on the Curry/Poole connection issues, I think the Draymond one is definitely more prominent, and the real driving force here. Dray plays a style that very much caters to Steph (as he should) and Poole doesnt fit into that yet, and probably not at all. Poole has never had to run through cycles of screens to get open.. and when he is open with the starting lineup - typically in the weakside baseline when one of Curry/Dray/Wiggins is driving - they dont look for him, and that's what he did a lot at Michigan - slide laterally to get open on the baseline to 45 degree mark behind the arc

Poole plays better with Wiggins, JTA, and the bench guys who similarly have not catered specifically to the GS system. He certainly cannot be the Klay in our system, so pairing him with Curry/Dray likely doesnt get a ton of returns. And since Dray is basically trying to play with him the same way he plays with Curry (which has caused us a ton of TOs), he's not doing well there either

For now we should be treating Poole like Barbosa was, and having him work his way into a larger role. As a 20mpg bench gunner he was great and his confidence was soaring. Being the new target of Draymond and Warrior fandom - because there always has to be someone, otherwise how else could people prove they're smarter than our FO?? - has toppled everything he built last year

Wonder if Curry gets more layups when playing with Bjelica because BJ is parked outside the arc, pulling the big man and shot blockers away from the restricted area.

Okoro in the fourth quarter was positioning himself between Curry and the arc on the strong side. So Curry just went the other way for uncontested layups a couple of times.

That's actually not a terrible net with Curry off the floor, no? I mean ideally we'd always be positive but -6 over 15 games means when Steph sits we basically hold with that lineup.

My main issue with Poole & Kuminga is when they settle for 3's. They both do so much better when they go to the hoop! I don't know if Poole even realizes how good he can be on drives. Even if he doesn't shoot the drives are putting pressure on the defense. I really like what Damian Lee is doing with all the drives & cuts, he hasn't been settling for 3's as much lately.

I thought the most entertaining stat I saw lately was "Players who've made 9 or more three-pointers in a game." Harden (and I think one or two others) was second with 9, and several other players were in it, including Klay with 7. Curry led with 36.
