Barnes has trouble getting by his man off the dribble and getting to the rim. Has to settle for that awkward looking push shot leaning into the defender most times. That's something he did in college with poor results. Needs to tighten up his handle.

He's not ready for a big increase in usage. He doesn't have the shot to set things up or the handles yet. And that is perfectly fine.
I am not sure why people are pushing for him to lead the offence at game 16 of the season, instead of him just slowly improving and developing that way.

Not to say that we should not find a way to get him involved on a few more possessions a game or that the way he is used is tweaked. That is fine. But I just don't understand the logic of those that think forcing somebody into a role they are not ready for as being good for development... never has been.

Yeah, I was just saying earlier that Scottie has loads of trouble getting right to the rim on his forays into the paint. It's a mix of lack of explosion off the dribble and his high dribble and uprightness.

He was hitting a variety of hook, spin, hesi, half layup and floats to start the season inside at an unsustainable rate but I think his hand injury is a factor for his touch and dribble right now
