Yea that's exactly what I mean,... who else did he attack in that tweet?

People are calling him brave for attacking Lebron. I think that’s anything but brave. You want to talk about why he’s considered brave for other things he does, cool but not sure why you’re replying to me as I don’t care.

Rapacious global capitalism exploiting slave labor in the all-consuming quest for profit is the fundamental problem here. Not LeBron. Kanter is mistaking the puppet for the puppeteer.

We get so fixated by celebrities that we become blind to the system propping them up.

You know who has the real power to make things right? John Donahoe. But he never will, because human life is less important than happy shareholders.

As for Kanter, he’s clout chasing. His career is hanging on by a thread so he’s doing whatever he can to keep it alive. He could’ve said something to LeBron in person but he chose to run away. I’m sure he’ll be loud on social media though.

Poor take. He knew this would be seen by millions upon millions and is making a statement that Lebron is quiet to any comments negative towards China. He has done this his entire career (in posts, comments and now otherwise re social injustices) and he's still here.

Just decided I'm getting a Kanter jersey.

Why would you support an organization that pours millions into China if you truly want to make a stand against China?

Daryl Morey was a lot braver. He actually could have lost his entire career as a GM. And he was one of the best in the league too.

Enes Kanter making a stand against China as an active NBA player is a much louder and more effective platform than Enes Kanter the former NBA player.
It's not hypocritical to not abstain from any and all Chinese product and culture to stand against the human rights violations of their government. Buying a phone is not the same as defending slavery from one of the biggest platforms anyone in the world has like LeBron did

It is pretty clear why. LeBron was the one that stood up for China during the Morey situation and he wants to come off as a social justice warrior. Of course that is only when it doesn't impact his pocket book.

I think its a funny troll by Kanter and it clearly did exactly what Kanter wanted, got people talking. Got people talking on social media, they brought it up during the game, got a thread started about it on here. So Kanter got what he wanted, people talking about it.

You and everyone else criticizing LeBron on this issue regularly consume goods manufactured by slave labor in China. You’re probably typing out your responses on an electronic device manufactured by slave labor in China. You have no issue with that, but you’ll act all outraged about a comment LeBron made two years ago about China. Give me a break.

EVERYTHING is manufactured in China. They are inescapable, and the reason why they are taking over the world's economy. There is something to be said of implicit agreements, but when somebody comes at the nation for some of their egregious transgressions, it's a WHOLE other thing to directly condemn that person and call them ignorant on the issues (with absolutely ZERO substance behind your words).

What Lebron James said was ignorant. But Kanter going after him is what I don't respect. Kanter has done nowhere near what Lebron has done for the world. Kanter also has nothing to lose and plays in an organization that supports China. He is a hypocrite. He is a talker.

I'm too old to wear colorful sneakers like those but I have to admit they look pretty cool too.

MLKj sacrificed. What has Kanter sacrificed? Nothing at all. It’s easy to talk when you have nothing on the line. He is still collecting NBA checks. Wearing Nikes.

I'm not comparing Kanter to MLK. Only saying he's made more genuine stands for people's lives, freedoms, rights than Lebron has... and in doing so, he's closer to MLK than Lebron "you're not educated on the situation" James is.

Outside of tweeting, what has Kanter done that was of any risk to him personally?

What has Kanter done that can even compare to Lebron's I Promise School?

While you're not wrong, Tatum could tweet whatever he wanted and few would listen.... LeBron can say whatever and the world listens. If you need proof, people actually watched Space Jam 2.

In LeBron's defense (which is something I'll rarely do), I feel that it's intellectually lazy to come at him for not speaking out against China while being vocal on social issues within the United States. LeBron knows what it's like to be a black male from an impoverished community, so no sh*t this is a topic he's going to speak out on. If he's staying silent on China, then I wouldn't attribute it to money as I can't recall him speaking out on any other state-bound issues from a global perspective.

From Kanter's point, I know he wants to make some noise and goes straight for the head of the snake but it's like MGK coming after Eminem.

Every day he plays in the NBA, he benefits from the same money that Nike got from China. This is why his stance is laughable.

If Kevin Durant said this, I would agree it is mad respect. If Jordan said, it would be mad respect.

He still has a platform while he's in the NBA, even if perceived as hypocritical.

If some idiot painted a LeBron illustration on his shoes and just walked around Target, nobody would care.

But it got us talking, didn't it?

I don't think Kanter is going after Lebron over shoes... he's been going after MJ over shoes, which makes more sense since MJ owns a shoe company, right?

His beef with Lebron is over the statement Lebron made when Morey was expressing support for the Hong Kong protestors... saying he didn't think Morey was "educated enough about the situation". What did that even mean? Did it mean Lebron was more educated about the situation at hand? He must have been, if he didn't think Morey wasn't educated enough about it. And if he was more educated about it, then he should have been leading the charge instead of Morey, since he's supposedly someone who uses his platform as a star NBA player to draw attention to human rights and social issues.
