Both have almost the exact contract....44ish this year, 47-mil player option next year (no way in hell either waive that). So there is no benefit from a trade. I'd say there's a slightly (SLIGHTLY) better chance we could find a team like detroit, or pacers, or sacramento that would want to stick a "star" on their squad for jerseys and ticket sales, with Westbrook.
At least Westbrook fills out all the stats, and gives it 110%.....it's a selling point for a team looking to make some cash. At $47mil next year.....it's prob a pipe dream.
Honestly, I think our best option is to tell him to take a long vacation for the next 2 years. Suck it up, and see if we still don't have enough to make a run at a title. I don't think we do, at this point......but Westbrook is a zero at best for this squad. He and the black-hole won't play a lick of defense.....jack up shots, and get loads of playing time. And we wonder why the team's not committing to D??? Where's the incentive? And who wants to bust their arse out there on defense, only to have the guy next to you let his man walk in for a layup. I personally thought all this was insanely obvious.....but apparently Laker brass, a huge portion of the fanbase, and our 2 star players thought this would be great.
Just put him on leave...same with Melo. I'd rather lose without them, than lose with them.
