It's so weird that you're trying to make this about being a man.

Lebron doesn't realize that Enes Kanter is trying to make him aware of his folly... with a goal being to encourage Lebron to use his platform (which is far, far larger than Kanter's) to bring awareness to actual human rights violations and racial injustices, compared to the mostly farcical issues that are pushed in the US of A for political reasons.

Instead, Qing James also decided to get in touch with his inner Queen James... and made this about himself, saying, "He's trying to use my name to create an opportunity for himself." :noway: No, Lebron, it is you who are missing the opportunity that Kanter is trying to create for you to actually do some actual good. That is, if you actually cared about doing actual good.

it's because in Enes' eyes Lebron is an ignorant fool who's not worth his time, whose only usefulness is to be used to get attention for the ACTUALLY significant stuff that he's is actually doing. He doesn't care if Lebron actually educates himself on the matter or not, in fact it's far more useful for him if Lebron stays ignorant of the issues so he can continue to portray Lebron as a puppet. There's plenty of egotism on all sides of this story.

Why not, the coup didn't succeed , he supported it, now its the time for him to face the music, because of Kanter his family is having problems. Since he's the high profile athlete from Turkey , maybe if he went there and publicly apologized , he would have been forgiven, instead he doubled down his public attack on the regime in Turkey while his family is stuck in that country ,I guess he doesn't value his own family that much.

If Enes wants Lebron to use his platform, speak to him man to man. Which he was too cowardly to do. Calling someone out in public is an attack. Not a push. Wearing a shoe showing him bowing to China is an attack, not an push. That is not how you get someone to do something.

And Lebron has done actual good things with his money. WTF has Kanter do?

If anything, Lebron should call him out listing out everything that he has ever done for society. Lebron done more for USA than Kanter did for Turkey.

If you don't clean your own house, don't ask others to clean theirs. What is his goal anyway? Take shots?

It is pretty clear why. LeBron was the one that stood up for China during the Morey situation and he wants to come off as a social justice warrior. Of course that is only when it doesn't impact his pocket book.

LeBron undermined everything he has ever done off the court by bowing to China. I lost so much respect for him over that.

Crazy. I don't even want to know what this means with the technology they'll be putting out over the next couple of decades. Total economic, political and social control? Probably.
LeBron won't change this, NBA won't, US won't.
West will be 2nd fiddle in a couple of yrs and will be forever. Get used to it. Enjoy today, it will change very soon very fast.
Here are a couple of pics I took during my 2006 internship in Beijing when going to China was considered an exciting adventure.
Local photo studio censored the last pic lol (beggar in front of Great Hall of Ppl).

China is no worse than the United States and any other superpower, you should get off your high horse. They are all doing bad things to its own people in different ways. United States have been the bigger menace on the global scale. United States have contributed so much to the modern civilization but they are destroying their legacy with all the evil they are doing and have done in many counties since the end of the WW2.

If Lebron is bowing to China, so is the NBA. So are all the GMs and players in the NBA. They are just doing it without a camera in their face.

So tell me what single thing he’s actually risking by going after Lebron?

Just cause Kanter’s done and risked all these other things doesn’t mean going after Lebron is brave.

People want to keep calling him brave for going after Lebron but when asked why it’s brave, all they talk about is these other things he’s done and don’t explain why going after Lebron is brave.

Again it’s confusing why people think it’s brave of Kanter to go at Lebron.

Hold on, you seriously ask which risks a role player takes when going publicly after the "face of the Association" and exposing his fake social warrior act? You think the league will continue to let him speak out freely after that?

I have a feeling if Kanter keeps speaking the way he does, to the people he does about very serious political issues--the NBA will be the least of his worries

Enes's personality is quite similar to Kaepernick. Both have the quintessential activist personality. They score high for traits such as altruism, self-sacrifice, pursuit of their concept of the public good, self-righteousness and low agreeableness.

Enes is using Lebron in a similar fashion to how Kaepernick used the American Flag. Kaepernick kneeled because he knew the flag was a powerful, emotional symbol of a US govt. He wanted to draw attention to this country's shameful treatment of African Americans so he kneeled. He knew it would provoke a reaction and bring attention to his cause.

Enes is motivated by international affair. He is deeply concerned about many of the authoritarian govts in the world and believes corporations support these govts. He is using Lebron as a symbol because he know the media will cover it as it will provoke a reaction and bring attention to his cause.

He had a multitude of ways he could have gone about this in my opinion. He choose the most distasteful one. Putting Lebron at front row is missing the big picture. Guy with the glasses and bald head. Or the 30 something owners. NBA agreeing to billon dollar partnership with China. The NBA as a whole is the culprit. Singling out one guy because you dont like him is not the way to go in my opinion.

But going at the entire NBA wouldn't get nearly the attention going at Lebron does. Same as going at some symbol other than the American Flag/National Anthem wouldn't get the attention Kaepernick wanted for his cause.

Both understood the way to get the media to talk about the issue you care most about you need to make a gesture against something or someone many people care deeply about. Otherwise they'll just ignore it.

One quick Enes Kanter news search and all im finding is Lebron James articles in the first page. He got the media talking. Focused on Lebron James. Does the buck stop with Lebron James?

LeBron has enough money. He also knows that his words have the potential to affect everyone associated with the NBA's pocket book. He'd be reckless to take an aggressive stance at that point.
